Replying To WHISKEY:  "Two good matches to look forward to. Rathvilly look to be the favourites but I wouldn't rule out Old Leighlin. Couple of close matches will have helped them this year.

Pal and Eire Og will be harder to call. Pal on paper look strong but Eire Og have all ready accounted for them in the League Final so they will be going into this with a win behind them so anything can happen. A seat in Dr Cullen is on the cards this Sunday......"
Has to be said Eire Og didn't look very impressive over the weekend in a game where Tinryland could have won had Broderick not missed the penalty. Tinryland had gained a bit of momentum in the second half but dropped the heads completely after a very poor penalty from Broderick, who to me, looked as if he had no interest in being on the field.

Eire Og won the league final but neither team played at full strength and there is a huge difference between league and championship. Hopefully it turns out to be a good game and isn't a repeat of the league final which was an extremely poor showing from both teams.

Can't see OL putting up much of a fight against Rathvilly. However, Btown managed to give them a good game so stranger things have happened.

Eire Og always rise for the big matches and I expect them to rise to Pal.. Pal going for 3 on a row and you can be sure Eire Og would love to be the team to bring them to a halt.

Would love to see Pal achieve the 3 in a row.......

WOULD YA GO WAY OUTTA THAT. EIRE OG WILL BE SECOND FIDDLE YET AGAIN TO THE MIGHTY 3 IN A ROW SEEKING PAL. WE ARE ON S DIFFERENT LEVEL TO THE REST OF THE CLUBS IN THE COUNTY. I AM LOOKING FORWARD TO WATCHING GROWN MEN IN EIRE OG COLOURS CRY AS THEY ARE BEATEN YET AGAIN. PAL ABU.

I think it will be a lot closer than you think. Very little between both sides I reckon. There will be no more than a couple of points between them.

Interesting games on Sunday. Eire og had plenty to spare over Tinryland and after the penalty was put over the bar - looked in no danger. Pal are a different proposition and will have been eyeing up a tilt against the YI's. A kick of a ball between the two teams I expect. Eire Og have tried out a lot of players and will be no pushover at all.
The other game is very interesting... OL are not as good as they were but are still difficult to beat and have the drive and solidity to test Rathvilly who looked good against Eire Og, Rathvilly have some super players and if big Brendan is in form and is not fouled every time he gets the ball, then Rathvilly should win but one would be foolish to write off OL. Interesting games ahead. My prediction is Pal and Rathvilly to come through to the final.

Best of Luck to Pal in Leinster Championship against Longford champions.

Do you know when the game between Palatine and the Longford champions takes place?

Big win for E Og today and we will have new champions!! Very hard to win the 3 in a row! Some win with 14 men!

The final will be really interesting and has the form teams there... hard to predict a winner and their match a few weeks ago was a close one. Hard to know who will win. E Og have great momentum now after their win today and will be hard stopped.

I enjoyed the first game, rathvilly just about deserved it, Brendan Murphy was in great form kicking some great scores off his left. The second game was awful, Eire og the better team but Palatine have only themselves to blame, Eire og sat 6 players in the middle of the defense all game and pal kept running into it, not once did they try to press or stretch it.

Rathvilly got over the line yesterday but could have gone the other way if OL took some of their many chances.

Eire Og turnovers were probably the highlight of a poor 2nd game - against a poor Pal side whose stars of last 2 years failed to turn up.
E Og played almost the entire game with 14 men.

Final: I'd go for a 2 point win for E Og

Congrats to Eire Og on a great win yesterday. Down to 14 men after 15 mins. Won by 5 and missed a penalty. Rathvilly will be hard to beat but good to be back in a county final for the first time in 5 years.

HEARTBROKEN IS NOT THE WORD. I HAVE SPENT THE LADT WEEK IN A DARKENED ROOM WITH MY HEAD IN MY HANDS. THE DREAM OF 3 IN A ROW IS OVER. THANKS FOR THE MEMORIES. WE WILL BE BACK. WE NEVER GOT GOING AT ALL. CREDIT TO EIRE OG WHO WERE SUPERB THROUGHOUT. THE MEN FROM THE HOLY LAND THATS PALATINE NOT PALESTINE WILL BE BACK. PAL ABU.

Very interesting senior final on Sunday between a rejuvenated Eire Og and a strong Rathvilly. Should be a good match and I am looking forward to it! Hard to know who has the advantage after the semi's with Rathvilly looking somewhat vulnerable and Eire Og showing a renewed tenacity in playing with 14 men against a poor Pal side.
Both teams have good ball winners and the Eire Og full back line has tightened up - and Rathvilly have strong players in defence ... has the right ingredients for a good match.

Interesting that J Morrissey is now in the position of possibly playing in the minor and also the senior when another club also in the same position did not have that quandary in recent years!! Very interesting call decision made by the Fixtures Committee!!

Yea. Seems one rule for one club and a different one for everyone else. Mountains to climb as usual.

Last point very well made. Back to the old referee switch situation possibly. But then I would always have favoured the minors playing as the curtain raiser to the senior final and not in front of a few parents and random others. At least the winners of the minor will turn up to the Leinster minor tournament and not opt out for soccer this year.

Poor replay... Jordan Morrissey showed flashes of huge potential in the second half... and nice to see Benny Kavanagh recovering some old form... Rathvilly's tactic amounted to give it to Brendan... that said, if they'd scored the first penalty, we'd have a reply midweek.... Also, I think final should have been played last week, Eire Og now has a very short turnaround before their Leinster club game... also, how many subs did Eire Og have? Seemed way over the top...

Rathvilly had their chance the last day. Eire Og were too good today and they were able to finish better today. Brendan had the ball a lot but in all the sections of the field where he was not going to pose a threat. Derek Hayden was a thorn at number 14 for Eire Og and Rathvilly were not able to mark him/ Morrissey finished well for his goal as did Ruth and that was essentially the difference. Rathvilly had their penalties and did not convert them both.
Gannon was better today and Simon Rea sowed his experience as he roamed around in the first half. Eire Og subs contributed a little more than their counterparts also.
Not a great game but not vintage stuff either. Eire Og will need to improve a lot and be more clinical if they are to win the first round of the Leinster. Hopefully they will play with the shackles off next weekend.

Well done to Eire og. What an awful game though, possibly the worst county final in living memory. Rathvilly were far to predictable in their attacking, they had no end ball, Eire og were slightly better but I find it hard to apply the word better to what I seen. I left with ten minutes to go as I'd seen enough, as a neutral there was zero entertainment. Hard to see Eire og going any further on what I've seen the last two games, but wish them well
