Replying To Laois76:  "If you read Colm O'Rourke's article on the Sindo today he has a little go at Sky analysts trying to make a name for themselves. Peter Canavan trying to make a name for himself is a ridiculous assumption."
Read it. He didn't do anything of the sort. He had a little (understandable) dig at Mickey Harte and his juvenile refusal to talk to RTE and Harte's previous put downs of Sunday game pundits as out to make a name for themselves. Still, well done on all the replies professing outrage at O'Rourke casting aspersions on Canavan and all that...

Replying To MedwayIrish:  "Yeah I'd agree with that but end of the day how hard or expensive can it be to set up a red button option? Surely just a couple of clicks and it's done although having said that I don't pretend to be any sort of techie, far from it!"
wouldnt be the most knowledgeable about it myself medway...notice the the budget cuts big time in their spanish coverage which was a lot more professional a few years ago

Replying To AustinGleeson6:  "Cheapskates who cant afford pay for Sky ? Im a 47 year old man (divorced) living on my own in Cappataggle from Galway. I trained as a welder in the '70s before moving into accountancy. I now work in Galway city nad for anyone to suggest they cant afford sky sports or even the daily sky sports pass is crazy to me.
If people wanted to watch GAA bad enough they can come up with the ten EUR.

Some folk out there just always looking for something to give out about."
You trained as a welder before you were ten??? Jeepers, they start them early in Cappataggle.

Canavan and the Sky team are great competition for Brolly. and co. As a matter of fact, the latter recycle the former's talking points verbatim. The thing about the regulars on RTE is that you already know what each chap has to say, but they can sneak in the odd derogatory remark every now and then. Michael Lyster is top class though, would love to hear what he really thinks about the elitist spin he has to listen to each week.

Mickey Harte's refusal to talk to RTE is entirely understandable given the fact that the death of his daughter was treated with gross insensitivity by employees of RTE. O Rourke, Spillane and Brolly are not and should not be immune to criticism . They don't seem to be prepared to accept criticism. Michael Duignan has also illustrated that recently . The Sunday Game Live programmes most particularly those programmes that broadcast football deserve criticism
