Sur why not start a thread on the Junior Championship (they always get left out!). I'm sure everyone believes its Bal's to loose but you'd never know. This weekend see's the following group 1 & 2 fixtures, I'll leave the other groups for someone else to predict.........
Bal v St. Pauls.............Bal will be favorites but Pauls could sneak a draw or even a 1 point win.
Multy v Kilbeggan.......Multy by 2.
Delvin V Loughnavalley.......Loughnavalley to win here.
Ballycomoyle V Josephs......Ballycomoyle I think.

Any thoughts?

Very hard to call these matches. Ballinacargy start championship as strong favourites given their league form and pedigree. Would be surprised if they don't win it out. Kilbeggan, Multi and Paul's all around the same level. In the other group any of the teams can beat each other on any given day so should be a close group. No one sided scorelines hopefully. Hard to know what strong the senior clubs will be.

A bit harsh I think JohnyDuncan. Yes, Bal are overwhelming favorites but please show a bit of respect to the other clubs involved or should they all just not bother showing up. The purpose of this forum is to discuss all aspects of this years Championship - not just who will win it. We can talk predictions, results etc. Please don't just write off the competition just because you think one team will walk it.

By the way...Delvin had a good 2-07 to 0-6 point win against Loughnavalley this evening.

Was at the double header this morning. Bal very direct and economical in front of goal. Multy, young team, played well to a point but will have to up it to trouble Ballynacargy

Kinnegad and Tubberclair pulled out of the championship altogether. Better now than after playing a couple of games. But they never should have entered in the first place.

Disgraceful scene at ballycomoyle and st Joseph game as a st Joseph spectator ran on to field and hit ballycomoyle player

Ballynacargy v Multy Friday night will tell a lot about the prospects of a competitive battle for the junior championship.

No excuse for that carry on. What's gone wrong with Ballycomoyle. They have gone back a lot.

What happened? Surely a ban will be imposed.

Wasn't at the game but from what I heard a BC player hit a young Joeys player and a relative on the sideline came on then and struck the BD player. Depends what the ref puts in his report I suppose

Predictions are merely that, as often wrong as right. Bal were demoted from Intermediate last year and everyone knows that the best juniors and the weakest inters are pretty well on a par. Multy have youth on their side and the best is yet to come from them. These two will meet twice and possibly in the final as well. Should be a good game and a good test for both.

This Bal team would not compare to a weak intermediate team, they would be favorites to win the intermediate if they were in it.

Ah footiemad bit of a stretch to say that they would be fav's for the intermediate! The inter is ultra competitive with all the recent previous winners doing well enough in senior.
I think certain teams do go down to junior with not too much disappointment and then get their hunger and act together again because they see silverware at the end of the year - Bal and CFCW seem to fit this bill anyway. Ballinagore would be an exception who have seemed likely to go down but have pulled out big wins when they needed them to stay up.

No way, you are rating them way too highly. They were relegated for a reason, they lack youthful players at the moment. The majority of intermediate teams could deal with a time with one scoring forward. They are also very undisciplined never seem to end a game with 15 players.

In every game there is a few sly one thrown its part of the game unfortunately but in no way showed a spectator get involved
