Top 6 forwards.

I would have to find space for Patrick McBrearty if we are going on current form.

He has single handedly carried a misfiring Donegal forward line on his own this summer & without him we would be lost.

No harm to any forward in a top side like Dublin or Kerry, & they are very fine players indeed, but to me any man who can shine in a team that is not doing well has to get credit

Replying To Breffni39:  "Will have to think about this for a while but honestly feel Connolly and McManus should be the only nailed down certs on every team. Can't see a valid argument for any player picked ahead of them anyway."
I'm using that same logic and yup those 2 definitely make it. But by that criteria, Murphy has to make it IMO.
I'm not considering Ryan McHugh as he's best suited at wing back, likewise Peter Harte.

O'Callaghan
Murphy
Connolly

O'Donoghue
Geaney
McManus

Same as JoeSoaps only with OCallaghan in for Kilkenny. Everyone needs a player like Kilkenny but I honestly think he's failing to fulfil his full potential by carrying out that (necessary) role for Dublin. O'Callaghan has proven himself on every stage to date so will be interesting to see if he does it in Dublins remaining games. I've no doubt he will and so he's on my team.

Replying To TheWestIsAwake:  "Lets hope he stays clear of injuries, forgot him from my list of players who could potentially win All Stars in the coming years.

As for Cillian O'Connor he needs to start contributing more from play in the big games, his record in semi's and finals is very average."
Ok here we go. I won't even include his huge tally in frees and a few penalties. In the last 3 years.

2014 v Kerry- 1-5 from play over 2 games
2015 v Dublin- 1-02 from play over 2 games
2016- Scoreless from play in replay but 0-2 in first game and had a brilliant game all round.

So in the last 3 years in semis and finals he has scored 2-09 from play in the big games you say matter. Not bad. Compare his record to Connolly, Dean Rock or whoever else in the big games. Again not sure what people expect?

Yeah Kilkenny is a great player but kicks far too many wides for something like this. Unless you're talking best 6 forwards as a unit or whatever, and that's too complicated haha.

You failed to tell me about his tally from play in the 2012 & 13 finals where he failed to score from play.

So he has the grand total of 0-2 from the 4 finals he's played in including replays, that average and most would agree with me.

He did have great games against Kerry in 14 and kicked a great equaliser against Dublin last September but between replays I make it he's played in 12 semi finals and finals and his record has been far from spectacular from play.

COC is a very good player and is easily Mayo's best forward but just don't think he's blessed with the ability that Geaney, JOD & McManus have.

So we ignore the recent years and go right back to make his average worse? LOL. I would have McManus or JOD over him on my team, that isn't the point I am making. He is still a very young man. Was just on the scene and was injured in 2012, I would like to judge a guy on what he has done lately. He gets a raw deal.

10. Connolly - keeps his head hes a shoe in
11. Jamie Clarke - every team needs someone to supply a killer ball with a bit of craft. Jamie would be the ideal foil for this full forward line
12. O'Callaghan - looks a top player

3 of the deadliest in the game
13.O'Donoghue
14. Geaney
15. Conor McManus

Great call on Jamie Clarke.
An outstanding player that many will overlook and go for the obvious .

Oooo courageous. I'd have kept that comment to myself until after the weekend just to be on the safe side.

I'm surprised to see O Callaghans name being mentioned. He has the potential to be one of the greats but I would wait to see how he fares against some tight defences before naming him in my top six.

Only named players who have been playing in the forward line. Not ignoring the obvious quality of Murphy at Donegal and Harte with our neighbours.

Wrestled with that myself but I just couldn't bring myself to leave him out haha.

Clarke, Quinlivan, Walshe, Murtagh, O'Connor all great players too. Some fantastic forwards in the country.

Find it strange that people are complaining about someone having coc or Kilkenny in the team and accepting Jamie Clark who has never really showed his class at interconty level and seems to get better with every break he takes in some people's mind. O'Callaghan can't really be judged as he hasn't played and performed in a anyways close championship match. There is lots of forward talent around the country.
