Totally jealous of everyone who's going but just couldn't stretch to it having been over for 8 days this month already so I'll be watching it in either Alexandra (Clapham) or Ganley's (Morden) for anyone who knows south London. Have fun everyone, have a drink for me!

While I think our 2017 odyssey is going to come to an end on Sunday, if somebody had told me at the start of the year we'd get out of 1B, beat Kilkenny twice and get to a Leinster final, I'd have took their hand off.
The whole squad have a lot to be proud of, they put us back on the map. Maybe next year, we can have Liam Og, Damien Reck, Rory O'Connor, Andrew Shore and a few more in the shake up.
The future is bright, but we must take advantage now because Kilkenny will be back with a vengeance before we know it.

Yet there was no issue all along when Cork people had to drive to Dublin to play yourselves, Kilkenny etc sometimes in quarter finals. Get a grip it's Cork ye have to get to not Donegal.

Yea a bit of whinging about it that is OTT. I prefer going to Cork over Thurlas any day forbtge week. Will be great to see the new stadium.

Looking forward to this game. I'd be happy to see either of Waterford or Wexford win the All-Ireland. I think Waterford have more chance of doing that. But they need to raise their game to the level of last year's semi-final versus Kilkenny. Wexford lost the Leinster final to a good Galway side and I think they'll come on from that, although I don't think they good enough to win the AI. So, all things considered, I've put £10 on Wexford to win at 3/1. I'm gambling on Waterford not being at their best today.

Very much looking forward to the game. One of those games i'd like both teams to win!

Waterford seem a little stronger and more seasoned but Wexford won't be too far away.

Sorry to be so dumb but does the black card operate in hurling?? Just seen an obvious one in the first 2mins of this game.

Reasonable question if you don't know. Anyway no black card used in hurling.. Be only 7or8 players left by the 70th min if there was..

Cheers, genuinely didn't know. It's a terrible rule either ways.

I missed the good old days when we had average referees and one team felt hard done by. Now we have really really poor refs with both teams unhappy.

Gleeson getting booked was a joke. O'Connor did the same and no yellow.

I'd like to see Horgan let the game flow a bit more.

Regardless of systems, sweepers etc, that was a brilliant first half, hugely enjoyable. Some brilliant scores, some unbelievable passages of distribution, great stuff. And, even though the commentary were talking down Wexford's performance a bit, I think both teams were pretty impressive. I hope its recognized as such at half time, if that was Tipp and Kilkenny, people would be saying its a classic already.

Only sour note for me is the referring performance, very inconsistent. Hopefully that won't have a consequence in the 2nd half. But yeah, apart from that, so far so good.

I think its a terrible game.I just wish teams would go out and hurl like hell.Coaches are ruining the game as a spectacle in my opinion.

Agreed and I think this half will be better.

Absolute puke hurling.....time for the black card in hurling.....from minor through to senior Waterford now have a deliberate tactic of pulling down the runner, happened on four occasions in u21 game v Cork last week and has also happened today on 3/4 occasions terrible to see

Very much agreed. That game drew to an inevitable conclusion. Disappointing contest.

Typical Wexford, no improvement from last year in terms of championship hurling. Puck outs terrible, sweepers distribution of the ball is shockingly bad, corner backs can't defend without fouling, no initiative and worst of all, totally disastrous management. No plan to deal with sweeper of Waterford, terrible discipline, very slow movement of the ball and dreadful decision making

Nope, definite improvement this year.
2016- Poor league, hammered by the Dubs in Leinster, hammered by Waterford in AI QF.
2017- League promotion, Leinster final, play poor but only lose by 4 to Waterford in AI QF. And of course, beat Kilkenny twice!!

We're all disappointed tonight, but looking back I'd say a step in the right direction this year, more competitive with a young team who will come into its prime the next few years.

Well done to Waterford, as most commentators pointed out correctly, they're just a few years further down the road in terms of experience and development than Wexford at the moment, but that can change quickly lads!! :D

2018.....bring it on!!!!
Up Wexford!!!!

Have to disagree , Wexford are not physically at the races compared to the top teams and have had to play a different game , they are not the finished article didn't think too many people thought they were , but to say no improvement well this time last year you couldn't compete with your camogie team

Agreed. This was utter utter puke. I went to see the stadium. Reardens bar in Cork were giving a free pint if you presented your match ticket. That was the best thing with having a ticket for that match.

Sadly these games are becoming normal. There is no ground hurling in overhead pulling, legal blocking of the ball, very little hooking.. We get lots of uncontested passing and teams happily coughing up scores and just backing themselves to outscore with similarly lose play.

Strange sort of a game; through-out I felt Waterford would have enough to win, but at the same time they consistently failed to put daylight between themselves and the Model Men. The goal on the cusp of half-time was a huge moment in the game. I really enjoyed the titanic struggle in the middle of the field; some lovely hard-hitting hurling there in the second half.

As a total neutral I thoroughly enjoyed that. Well done to both teams. Waterford were definitely worth the win, though I will say that giving that kind of space in the forward half of the field will cost them dearly against a team better than Wexford. And for all the men they had in their own half, they still conceded an awful lot of points. They'll need to fix that if they want to get past the semis.

Wexford have had a tremendous year and have some lovely individual hurlers. If they can bring one or two more up to speed, they'll be some force come next year. Chin is some lad; a joy to watch.

Well done both of ye. Congrats An Deise and hardluck Wexford!
