Replying To perfect10:  "i always remember the late micheal o hehir, saying in a commentary "congress will have to look at the amount of balls lost in croke park today"."
Class. How long ago was that?

Slightly OT - I remember Jimmy Magee saying about the bould Spillane "Pats OK but I'm not so sure about the bike"

I was listening to OffTheBall last night and never realized the shenanigans going on with sliotars by teams.
It was actually fairly interesting about the different type of balls and how teams get the sliotars they want into the game rather than play with the approved sliotars for the 70 mins.

Replying To PoolSturgeon:  "I have seen the video of it taken from the Hogan Stand.
What intrigues me is why the person who videoed it on their mobile phone had their camera-phone trained on the individual who took the sliotars well before he made any move to do so, when the chap was totally inconspicuous and could have been presumed to have been an on field official, and when there were more interesting things happening on the field at the time ( at one stage, the crowd in front of the video-maker are looking up the field, in the opposite direction to where the camera phone is pointed.)

It has all the hallmarks of a prank to me and it should not take much figuring out to identify those (allegedly) involved!"
Initially I thought it was a prank until i read the news article about Clare Management apologising to their Cork counterparts. The fact they're aware of the individual so quickly makes me wonder if it was someone withing their camp.

"He very much regrets that it happened and it was something that they didn't sanction but they are aware of who is involved. It is a matter for them to deal with."
