Limerick Senior Hurling 2018.

Best of luck to the team tomorrow they've steadily improved all year and if they continue that they will be no fear of them. Most of the pundits are tipping Galway but if you were to compare the individual players on form this year them we have a lot more players playing to their potential than Galway and I think that could be the difference tomorrow
Limerick to do it

Best of luck to all the lads tomorrow
I believe which ever half back line does best, that team will win.
I sure hope it's Limerick.

Finally the day has arrived. Our season that started in Mallow all those cold months ago will finally end today in croke park.

I believe we will win and we will.

There have been many tortuous days and years following Limerick hurling teams e.g. the qualifiers of 2003 v Offaly in Thurles and 2006 v Clare in Ennis (where a friend and I were sympathised with by Clare supporters! ), the strike of 2010, the eight years in the gulag of 1B, and of course, the two traumatic All-Ireland Final defeats of 1994 and 1996.
The worst day for me, however, will probably always be the 24-point whipping by Tipp in the 2009 All-Ireland semifinal, with Lar Corbett scoring the Premier's sixth goal at the end of the match into an empty Limerick net!
I sat in the Cusack Stand that day and thought that we were finished as a hurling county. Over in the Hogan Stand a man leaving the ground at the end of the ordeal turned around at the top of the steps, pointed to the scene below, and told his wife, "I will make sure something like this never, ever happens again." The next day that man rang Liam Lenihan, chair of Limerick GAA to offer his help in the county's resurrection.
Nine years on from that calamity in Croke Park, John Kiely's promise to his wife that day could lead us to Paradise.
If we win today I will cry like a ba ba, but even if we don't, John Kiely and this team have given us a hurling year from the heavens. I will be forever grateful. What a time to be alive! Luimneach abú!

Enjoy that one down shannonside lads.

Fantastic win, ye even made it hard for yourselves to make it more enjoyable :)

Great to see it and long overdue, well done and hopefully it gives more inspiration to the likes of ourselves also to push on.

Delighted for ye!!!! Fully deserved glory, now ENJOY THE PARTY!!! I'm sure there will be more from this group (let's hope not too many ;) ). Now, maybe next year we can finally banish the haunting memory of that Ciaran Carey piece of magic in 1996 by knocking ye out ;) Here's hoping anyway :)

Many Congratulations better team on day no doubt victory hard earned and with new format you have to strike when iron is hot as they say, very hard to put back to back titles as Galway now know.

Hope victory will encourage children to play hurling in the City especially ad there are so many other distractions

Thank you.
The best thing about this victory is that all the talk about 1994 & 1996 are over. Also the 3 u21 teams of the noughties can breed again. This is massive for the county.

If I was to predict a winner for next year then I would say its between cork/clare if they sort a few small things in both fullback lines.

Amazing how Mulcahy was written of by so many including on here, and now hes in the conversation for hoty after scoring an all Ireland winning point. Who would've seen that coming!

Also delighted the lads got the job done before the likes of McCarthy hickey Condon retire so that they could get their medals for their great service.

First off it was an unforgettable day yesterday. The atmosphere was brilliant in Dublin and in Croke Park. I thought the roof would come off during the parade and after the national anthem.
I think every player and mentor can share the glory that has come their way. It was hard earned.
Graeme's situation really shows the difference between coaches having a preordained system of playing that players must adapt to and finding a way of playing to suit the skills of your players.
I would ignore most of the comments on here writing off this player or that. What do we know?
It is a great sign of a team when different players stand out every day.
Graeme Mulcahy should be a cert for an All Star and would probably be my pick for Most Influential Player for Limerick in the championship. Although the list of contenders is long.

Agreed on Mulcahy and already delighted to be proved wrong as I had doubts when he was named on the team sheet at the start of the year. He didn't just improve , he exploded on the scene this year as if reborn. Credit to him and also the management team that found a way to maximize his potential .

Long may it continue.

Delighted to eat humble pie on Richie McCarthy as he did everyhing that was asked of him when he came on and looked cool under pressure in the process, in character with the manner of play of the new Limerick team .

Glad to see Hickey perform well against Cork (I missed if came on in the madness that was the last 10 minutes of the 8 minute added time. Thanks ref!!

Delighted with Condon's "huge" and involvement in the cauldron that was the last 10 minutes. That living hell hell was tailor made for him and I'll bet he loved it. Couldn't write a better ending for Tom .
Thanks to all 3.

Come On ye Boys in Green!
