They were similar, but not the same. In the Connolly incident, the linesman was stationary and Connolly went towards him, pointed and pushed. Cody was moving towards the Waterford manager and the fourth official stood in his way. That's the difference. Cully (Laois) - Posts: 375 - 10/07/2017 07:41:19 2013629 Link 0 |
It doesn't matter at all. It only matters that he did it. I've seen various excuses on social media that range from he's a gentleman and not that type of man to the linesman started it and Cody was just defending himself. All B.S. The GAA have opened a can of worms this year between Comerford, DC & the Louth player who's name escapes me. Not to mention Davy Fitz & McGeeney for that matter. Zero tolerance.

Every incident needs to be judged on its own individual merits, not have a "one size fits all" approach. Ulsterman and Dubs fans trying to compare the incident to Connolly's is pure false equivalence. ballydalane (Kilkenny) - Posts: 1246 - 10/07/2017 09:41:25 2013707 Link 1 |
The fact that Kilkenny are out of the championship had a big bearing on the Sunday game's panel. MesAmis (Dublin) - Posts: 13718 - 10/07/2017 10:39:01 2013798 Link 0 |
