Very interesting first half, can Clare keep up the tempo and can they find someone to mark Andy Moran!

Jesus the no.15 for Clare takes so much out of the ball. Loses it every time when a man is there to pass too

This referee is making up black card rules. An off the ball incident and he gives two black cards. A disgrace. The Mayo corner back lifted the clare man and spear tackled him into the ground and the referee gives both of them a black card. Totally flabbergasted

Brendan Harrison deserves a big ban for the incident at the end with Keelan Sexton, in no way defending Sexton but the manoeuvre he pulled would have been expected in a wrestling ring and not on a GAA pitch . Extremely dangerous lifting him and throwing him to the ground . It this was in rugby where body tackles are accepted it would be a four week ban . Disgraceful by Harrison and no regard to safety when the game was well over nothing against Harrison but if this is accepted it sets an unacceptable precedent where players can be lifted and dump tackled and only receive a black card.

Just seen 4 Clare players smiling and dying to swap jerseys with the "star" Mayo players after getting beat.
What the hell are they at?? Second half performance was dire. Showed far to much respect for Mayo. They won't go far with that attitude.
People may think I'm been harsh but do they want to go too the next level? That game was there for Clare to win.
Agin no disrespect to Mayo, they won and fair play to them

5 reasons in the rules to give black cards. These must happen during play. Off the ball incidents are dealt with in a separate section. So let's see, was it:
1. Deliberate body colide? No
2. Deliberate trip? No
3. Deliberate pull down? No
4. Verbal abuse to opponent or team mate? No
5. Remonstrating with match official? No

Referee bottled it, like he bottled giving the clare wing back a 2nd yellow earlier in the game for a high tackle once he realised he was already on a yellow

Replying To Killarney.87:  "This is exactly the sort of guff I am referring to. This obsession with Kerry isunhealthy. I do recall this 'useful' Clare team giving Roscommon a nice trimming in 2016."
Yes, as i said Clare are a useful team and would beat most teams in Ennis.
My point was that Munster teams (Cork '07 draw apart) simply offer zero resistance to Kerry in the qualifiers and especially in Croke Park in August.
You like to see the joint favorites being paired against the likes of Dublin, Tyrone, Down/Donegal and possibly Galway in the last 8.
Glad to see great servants like Andy Moran and Keith Higgins getting another day out. Great double victory for Tipp today.

Was it not our No. 4 that lifted him?

It's not rugby though. Different set off rules. Like comparing apples and oranges

Well done Mayo. Got the job done comfortably in the end.

Imo they're only going to improve from now on.

Mayo impressive in second half for periods, but as usual people getting carried away. Derry Div 3 , Clare div 2, yet they are so inconsistent during games. I expect them to win the next day but the step up at q final level will finish them..

Thought the Clare player could have done serious damage to Harrison's neck by failing to release his grip. Very dangerous.

Hard luck Clare, great first half but you just can't afford to make those sort of mistakes against teams of Mayo's quality.

Mayo will be a dangerous predator in the Quarters, Kerry will have their work cut out for them.

Posters having a go at Brendan Harrison The Clare forward had 4 or 5 goes at him coming out The ref had plenty time to put an end to it before he did But refs don't want to get involved until there's retalitation Also the Clare player had him in a headlock Actully in MMA terms he had him in a guillotine

Another win. First half was a bit worrisome Mayo seemed a bit unsure and as a result sat back Were very lucky not to be down by 6 or 7 at HT Second half was a complete turnaround Mayo were driving through with confidence Clare were unsure Second half display is what we need from now on A good win without one of our midfielders Parsons was a loss even though he came on late

No, i don't see/hear anyone getting carried away,
I think these matches will bring them on a lot and can them being as competitive as ever in Croke Park especially if at full strength.

The attacker had him in a headlock so I think you are completely over the top in describing Harrison here

Just home from Ennis. I thought at half time that Clare would not be able to keep up the intensity in the second. Mayo powered on and the two goals finished it.

Still very hard to judge Mayo this year. It's likely we will meet Kerry in a quarter and nobody will give us a prayer in that...of course you'd back kerry to beat us but hey stranger things have happened.

So well done our lads and hard luck Clare. Cracking atmosphere at Cusack Park
