It's like the matrix on here from what I can see."
I'd have said more like One Flew Over The Cuckoo's Nest.................but I'd include myself in that!

The hill was closed because they took up about 30 barriers....how long does it take to take up 30 barriers??it was an excuse by the gaa to get more money for seating...

Not for a provincial final, especially one with as much interest as this Leinster final had. And definitely not when the crowd is expected to be exceed 75% the grounds capacity.

Replying To KingdomBoy1:  "The GAA should spend a bit of money and get rid of the hill once and for all.

It looks desperate and the stadium looks unfinished.

If we get the rugby World Cup then they should make it a priority to burry it under a proper structure, I know the dart runs at the back of it but they could work around it I'm sure."
If you've got the plan to build a stand that gets around the fact that an extremely busy train line runs literally yards behind Hill 16 then I'm sure the GAA would love to hear from you.

It also isn't the Dart. It's a national train line connecting the West of Ireland, as well as many other areas to the city centre of Dublin.

Agreed, made no sense aLloyd and would have added to the day and got thousands snapping up tickets.

If there is any silver lining to a Coldplay concert is that it means Westmeath v Dubs won't be the worst performance in Croke Park this summer.

I was at a quarter final double header a few years back and the crowd was 35thousand and the kilinan terrace was not open

A quarter-final isn't a provincial final. Not the same occasion

And not that it really matters, but 35k is still less than 75% the capacity of Thurles

I'd say Heslin and Dessie Dolan could put on a better gig than the appropriately named Coldplay.

Agreed, the cost of completing the "bowl" would be huge as the railway line would have to be moved to some extent and then you have the cost of buying houses and land on Clonliffe Road and Joseph's Avenue, then we would have many complaining its a waste of money and a white elephant, the capacity is fine as it is and personally I think the Hill looks fine, they done the best at the time with the land available to them but not having it available last Sunday was a poor decision, for all they had done the work could have easily started after the hurling.

When leaving Croke Park they were already marking out for the concert, taking down the goal posts, etc, etc. I would say a few lads with a ratchet could have took out those few rows of barriers in a few hours

Nobody cut off the end of the stadium. The Hill was there and the railway line was there before the stadium was revamped. Unlike on the Canal end they cannot build very close to the railway line like they can build very close to the canal or build a bridge over the railway line from the Hill 16 end like the bridge over the canal for supporters leaving the ground.
