They could at least have draped "flags" over the terracing. Or "support the GAA" banners .

Totally agree.

Bad move by the GAA.

Clearly motivated by money with no consideration for the fans.

It wouldn't have made any difference just look at the all ireland semi finals not involving Dublin most years only have a few hundred in the middle of the hill and they generally get 50-60 thousand in the stand just like today

they are doing work on the hill!

the plastic glass wall has been removed

terracing goes all the way down to pitch level. The capacity will actually get increased now
only thing left to do is put back the crush barriers

Only the centre section of the Hill was affected, the Nally Terrace and the section adjacent the Cusack could have been opened.

You're wrong, most AI semis never mind today have a few thousand on Hill.

Yeah, that's it. Support the GAA banners in a huge crowd of, wait for it, GAA supporters. Maybe they should have 'God is actually fierce sound' banners on any unoccupied part of the Vatican?

the grab all association knew that wexford and galway would pay the 35 euro for a seat and anybody who thinks otherwise doesnt understand gaa mentality.

Replying To KingdomBoy1:  "The GAA should spend a bit of money and get rid of the hill once and for all.

It looks desperate and the stadium looks unfinished.

If we get the rugby World Cup then they should make it a priority to burry it under a proper structure, I know the dart runs at the back of it but they could work around it I'm sure."
100% agree ,Stadium still doesn't look right ,People say it's down to Dublin GAA supporters & keeping them satisfied but the last time I checked the GAA is vastly bigger than just Dublin & I know it comes down to Money & the big support Dublin have But it's time to remove the Hill16 & replace it with a 4th stand to compliment this Historic stadium ,people need to modernise

They should complete the stadium and revert the 2 lower tiers behinds each goal to Terracing once more. Nothing better than to see different colours behind each goal IMO.
Create an electric atmosphere and extra capacity so everybody wins - the fans and the GAA bank balance.

How are you going to do that with a railway line behind it?

Valley please do not come onto this site and make sense!!!!!!

It is due to either 1. Croker appeasing the Dubs or 2. Croker are doing it to make money!!

We are in the era of Trump...........truth is not an important factor

This was well flagged weeks ago the terrace is closed to facilitate the removal of the barriers for the stage for Coldplay - tickets went on sale 2016!! Tickets for concerts next year are already on sale. Flagged for cider!!!!!
arock (Dublin)

Flagged for cider!!!!! Being flagged is no excuse. The ways thing are going we will only have CP open for concerts and the Dubs!

Agree I really miss the old canal end always adds to the atmosphere having terracing at both ends

For the umpteened time it was because of a concert upcoming at the venue....

Wrong decision but as usual just blame the Dubs...! Lazy post there by you...!"
I'm not blaming the dubs im blaming croke park, I'm fully aware that Dublin fans fill the hill when Dublin play there, therefore its more financially profitable for the gaa then opening it when other counties play there, my point is a stadium which has terracing must open it for every game as an affordable way for some fans to attend especially teenagers and young adults, doesn't matter how many show up. Having a concert there next weekend is no excuse work could of easily of started after last Sunday's game

I agree. Work could easily have started after Sunday's game.
But sure it is all about the money.
No joined up thinking at all from HQ.

The big empty Hill looked terrible on Sunday while the rest of the stadium absolutely electric!! I'd love to hear from players if there is any impact on them from the field.. surely baring down on goal with the crowd in front of you going mental would have to kick the adrenalin up a notch!
