Hurlers who put their club on the map

Replying To Pinkie:  "I was thinking over the past few days of hurlers who put their club on the map, at least in modern times. For example, I would say Matthew O'Hanlon has put St. James on the map in a hurling context, they were a football club only up until maybe 20 years ago.
Now I reckon there must be plenty of such hurlers around the country, clubs which were never heard of before and some which haven't been heard of after 1 outstanding player.
For example I had never heard of Lattin Cullen before Nickey English arrived nor have I heard of them or seen the club on a Tipp teamsheet since, Bride Rovers before Brian Murphy arrived, St. Ita's before Seamus Harnedy joined the inter county game, Danesfort before Richie Hogan."
Mark Molloy was the first St James player to hurl senior for Wexford
Jim Byrne in Fethard would be another example

Derek savage... cartoon shamrocks, Liam Burke... Kilconeiron. Kevin Broderick..abbey duniry. Gantleys...Beagh. Kevin Brady...Sylane. Jason Flynn...tommy larkins. Cathal and Padraig mansion...ashascaragh fohenagh are the ones that stick out in a galway context. On a national scale, I always thought Mattie forde from killanerin (sorry wexford if spelling incorrect) and Cormac McAnallen from English and Sean Cavanagh from Moy, never heard of those clubs before those lads started playing.
