On gaa.ie it seems like you can buy tickets for all the other games bar Kilkenny v Limerick now, this message flashes up about the game being available on June 30th. Is that just something you see when the site experiences high demand?

What a bore! Three of the games will be completely one-sided. The Limerick- Kilkenny game will follow the usual script between these two teams: Limerick will fight hard and make Kilkenny work for it but in the end Kilkenny will win by about 5 points without ever looking in any serious trouble of losing. Hopefully Kilkenny and Tipp meet in the next round and knock lumps out of each other.

A third bowl was most definitely used. This was explained in the radio program:
RTE Radio Player link
Explanation is between 01:35 - 02:06
The entire draw of course follows that and it's clear that a canister is taken from each of the Leinster and Munster bowls, and thy're mixed in the third bowl.

I take your point , but you got to agree that it's blatantly lobsided as hell?

The only thing that makes me think this draw wasn't 'hand-picked' was that Kilkenny got Limerick instead of Laois. As for the home advantage draw how much can you really mix two balls in a pot anyway without still knowing what each one is? Seems a little contrived.

I thought that the quarter final losers (Tipp, Laois, Dublin, Westmeath) should have started at an earlier stage of the qualifiers than the semi final losers (Limerick, Waterford, Offaly, Kilkenny). I think they did it that way a few years ago. Funnily enough, the way it worked out this morning, the quarter final losers meet each other and the semi final losers meet each other. How eerie.

Sounds about right. If it was in the Gaelic Grounds, Limerick would have had a better chance but think this will be too much for them. They have maybe a 33% chance but no more.

Why is it necessary to have two groups. All these teams have lost a game and having to play each other again may be the price you pay for that.

But Limerick, Waterford, and Kilkenny never played a quarter-final. Why should they get preferential treatment?

Supposing Waterford beat Cork. Cork would be at the same stage as Tipperary, having already beaten them in championship. Likewise if Kilkenny had beaten Wexford or Offaly had beaten Galway, then Galway and Wexford would have been at the same stage as teams they beat (Dublin and Laois). It just happened that the results went the way they did that you don't notice any unfairness.
