Senior:
Bray to beat Tinahely
Rathnew to beat Coolkenno - Rathnew have been brilliant so far
St. Pats to beat Balto - Balto havent been lighting the world a light and they've lost Joey Kelly
Eire Og to beat Annacurra
Blessington to beat Kiltegan
Newtown to draw Avondale - Avondale have been so unlucky this year with injuries and many lads going to America for the summer and the loss of Conor McGraynor is huge, they have massive potential but for this year there goal will be to avoid relegation. Avondale still have strong core and they can force a win or draw

Replying To LSDEindhoven:  "Interesting set of results from Jun A and Intermediate this weekend. Laragh on a good run in Div 2 and comfortably beaten and outplayed by Kilcoole in Jun A. I was impressed with Kilcoole, some great scores kicked in the second half when under pressure but Laragh really looked headless with an extra man. Valleymount had an easy win over Barndarrig in that group too, they look to be very strong this year. Ballinacor cant buy a win in Div 2 recently and comfortably beat Dunlavin (Anyone at this game?). Ballymanus beat Kilmac who have had a good year so far in Div 1A. High scoring game, both teams wide open. Can see that group being very interesting, 4 teams who really fancy themselves to win the championship. Fancy Donard and Hollywood to come out of the other group and probably Carnew with them. All grades are hard to call but Inter always seems to be the hardest!"
Seeing as how only a week prior to their championship clash Laragh had the better of Kilcoole I was suprised at how strong the Kilcoole side looked, Four or five points up they looked like they would stroll the rest of the game until a very foolish red card.. some very good long distance pointing on display but kilcoole have a history of dishing out a hiding and then dissapearing in their next game! They potentially might overlook Knockananna in their next match.

I had heard that barndarraig had picked up a few nasty injuries against valleymount and it could seriously hamper their championship run.

Rathnew/Coolkenno should be a decent affair tomorrow, I think Rathnew will come out on top they have stepped it up a gear.

Newtown to beat Avondale, Avondale missing too many players.

Eire og to beat Annacurra

Also, opinions on Kilmac postponing their intermediate cship match vs Rathnew?
Apparently on the grounds that Rathnew have yet to start their Senior championship campaign even though it starts tomorrow? ( intermediate game was schedueled for today )

It could be the year for the mighty Blesso Blues. They won't be whizzing through to a quarters unbeaten and now enter the back door.
Rathnew to walk to another Miley.

Dunlavin to win the inter.
Can't see any team in intermediate managed by former Blesso Blues challenging either. If your club are close but can't quite get into a final or win a championship- surely a Blessington management isn't the answer!

All this on the back of one defeat in their group??? Very close game that they were a bit unlucky to lose. 3 teams to go forward from this group so I would not write off Blesso yet.

Although there is no rule to say Rathnews first team should play before their second team play imo i thinks this is the way it should be done, could CB not have fixed the Rathnew Kilmac game for Sunday and this would have sorted the problem.

By that logic no championship should start until after the senior. What about clubs with senior and junior teams. Are junior teams going to refuse to play until seniors play. I believe Rathnew lost one player to the senior and he probably wouldn't have played the night before the senior anyway so a big waste of time by kilmac

Kilmac had a point but seemed to leave it very late to pull out of the match. I heard Rathnew offered to play it on Sunday or Monday and Kilmac refused, dont know if this true? If theres no rule in place to say Senior championship must start first and Rathnew offered to change the fixture to after the Senior will Rathnew have an argument to push for a walkover?? Stranger things have happened!

Didn't make it to any games at the weekend unfortunately. Some interesting results! Avondale seemed to be very lucky to get a draw, 4-03 is a crazy score to see in any game. Great result for Kiltegan against Blesso. Other than that no great shocks, Bray are missing lads for the whole year so maybe not a big surprise Tinahely turned them over even though I went for Bray. Coolkenno must have been shocking against Rathnew for most of the game?
In the Intermediate Ballymanus got the backlash from Dunlavin. Going by clips on FB Dunlavin seemed to cut them open easily enough for the goals. Again going by updates on FB Hollywood seemed comfortable enough against Donard on Friday but couldn't put them away and the late penalty almost caught them out. Carnew easy winners against Ashford.
This week I'd go for Kilmac to beat Aughrim with plenty to spare. Dunlavin to beat Rathnew but Rathnew will probably make a battle of it. Ballymanus v Ballinacor is tougher to call, seems Ballinacor may have caught Dunlavin on a bad day with players missing. 3 weekends in a row might catch up on Billies though - gonna get splinters and go for a draw in this one! Fancy Stratford to beat An Tochar by a few points

According to the paper Rathnew were awarded the points. Surely an appeal will go in from Kilmac, could drag this championship out a lot

All that was needed was common sense,by fixing the Kilmac and Rathnew game for the Sunday there would be no issue surely not a lot to ask of from the fixtures committee.

Will be interesting to see what grounds Kilmac could have for an appeal if no rules were broken.

True but no doubt they will try. Under serious pressure to get out of the group if the CB's decision stands! 2 losses and still have to play Ballinacor and Dunlavin

Well lads, was a fantastic match on last night in Bray Emmet's pitch. May have only been the Schweppes Cup but Kilcoole second team really laid down a marker for their Championship. They were playing a bray team who beat them at the start of the season by 20 odd points in bray, the return leg was 1.7-1.6 in kilcoole and last night kilcoole ran out with a 2.11-0.12 score line against a bray team who had a few seniors out and kilcoole had actually lost a player or two to the first team so I heard but still they played some amazing football. Midfielders done very well at clearing up ball, half forward and half back line had brilliant interplay and their young full back controlled the back like excellently calling for patience and to work the ball back and settle on the ball, made some brilliant runs through to cut bray open with his strength and speed, he was unlucky with a late black card, but for me the man who stood out most was the half back, distributed ball so smoothly, calmly and with ease and worked well with there midfielders! These guys aren't taking anything for granted and really showed up on the day and put it to us, as a local man to watch his team unfortunately lose but watch some amazing ball really was a joy to watch, I see these winning the C championship at ease and if these guys aren't in the first team such as the centre half back, half forward and centre back il most definitely be watching the first team in action on Saturday! Let the fun continue and best of luck to them against Rathnew, no one likes to see them win (tongue in cheek)!!!

As a fan of football of all levels, Its good to see more clubs fielding second teams its a positive step in the right direction, there seems to be a growing interest in the sport and in the long run it will only benefit wicklow gaa.
The more players available and willing to play football in wicklow the better.
Rathnew currently have three mens teams, is it any wonder why they have been so successful?

My prediction for this years championship is for kiltegan and Tinahely to get out of their group and to really push for the semis.
Very impressed with both teams especially Tinahely against Bray, both teams will be there near the end!

Billies looked fairly good alright. Ballinacor didnt want to know about it yesterday, forwards went missing. Seemed to be missing a few but dont think it would have made a difference on the day? Leaves that group wide open now, everyone in more or less the same situation. Good win for Kilcoole in the Junior before it, almost let Knockananna back in though!

AGB will be struggling I hear for the Tinahely game! Chris O Brien has gone to New Zealand and their other midfielder broke his ribs in training. Also a few young fellas going to a music festival, great chance for the Tinahely men this weekend!

Hollywood wont be touched at intermediate. Dont know what happens Dunlavin but that could be two costly losses with Kilmac coming up fighting for a place in quarters if appeal doesn't go their way.

What was the story in Kilmac and Aughrim match. Judging by the updates, first half must have been chronic stuff altogether? Heard an Aughrim man walked off the pitch during game after arguing with his manager too?

Didnt get to stay for the Ballymanus Ballinacor game Saturday but was surprised at result.
