Just to clarify. Basically was saying that the stock of both had fallen since the '69 semi final but really was talking about that period which would include the Offaly double win of course. I realise Offaly had a successful period in the early eighties but referenced '69 given that's when they last met in championship as far as I recall.

Cavan were comfortable. Offaly got three points at end to make it look tighter. Cavan pulled away at start of second half and that was the game won.

Tight first half, although plenty of open football. Level on 33mins then Cavan kicked the last 2 points of the half and kicked 1-04 to 0-01 early in the 2nd half to go 8 up. Stayed about 8 ahead until the last 10mins then got sloppy and offaly scored the last few points to finish within 4.
