Sligo v Antrim

Yeah look I think its something that the GAA need to tighten up on - when you look at Rugby who use the blood substitutes too they have a limit of 15 minutes for the player to be cleaned up and available again otherwise it then becomes a full replacement. You can't have players going off for 30+ minutes of a game, not returning and still class it as a blood substitution. Just surprised that the GAA haven't tightened up on it already when there have already been questions asked of it a couple of years back as it is open to abuse. Maybe there is a motion to be brought forward to congress!

Replying To riverboys:  "It was the public back in the mid 00s that spotted the fact that Dublin used to change 10 or 11 players during every game classing them as blood subs even when no blood was visible and not the officials or the GAA, they used to give players a 10 min rest then bring them back on again. It will always be the public that will spot mistakes and not the people in charge of our games"
Riverboys, would ye go back to sleep and stop spreading fairy tales, put up or shut up, what game did Dublin make 10 or 11 changes and class them as blood subs so the players could have a rest, rich coming from a Mayo supporter whose team are "resting" for nearly 70 years now.

Aye I would not be ar$ed pursuing this from an Antrim point of view but at the same time it is laughable that someone can go off for the final half hours of a game under the guise of a blood substitution. Again a fault of the rules that time and again look like they have been pulled out of someone's rear end.

Well I am of a similar opinion in that I am not asking for a replay or the likes in the case gone by as it is done, dusted and the ship seems to have sailed as there hasn't been any more on it. But Jaysus they do need to tighten up the rule on how long a Blood or Temporary Sub can be allowed before it becomes a full replacement. It'll be more disappointing if we are sitting here in a couple of years discussing another case of a similar nature.

Yet again another poster who has to counter a post by disparaging the original poster's county. Top man.
