I wasn't referring to him personally, nor his religious views; but that he is allowed to advertise them publically at a sporting event. If he's allowed to do it, so should everyone else. Allah Akbar! anybody?

I believe we're continuously reincarnated in various material forms until we've progressed sufficiently to move onto the spirit plain...................but that's going to be one long banner so I'll need some HS volunteers to hold it up with me?!

John Mcgrath scored 3-7 in a recent challenge game with Offaly last weekend.. would be great if he done that in the championship and Frank held up the sign behind the goal..

Have worked with a few guys who went the same way turning to god nearly over night, from one extreme to the other. Regardless he was a harmless man with a story who brought colour to the terraces and was pretty popular for photos. Often wondered did he receive free entry to the grounds having carried his placard far and wide"
I remember watching an interview with him on breaking ball years ago and from what I remember he said that he never bought a ticket to a match. Said he could pay his way into any game.

Not too fond of him myself either, have been near him at matches - whenever there was a score, anyone nearby got pushed out of the way so he could show his sign, didn't matter if they were young or old, male or female. Getting his sign on tv was all that mattered, manners went out the window.

Not allowed at soccer really???? Clearly you have never seen the Green Brigade at Celtic Park! You do know Bloody Sunday happened at a game held for welfare of political prisoners, I agree with your point in general but think you are being too dogmatic there given the history of our organisation......

The Green Brigade are a part of a bigger problem which degrades Scottish football, namely sectarianism, which mainly involves the two biggest clubs, Celtic and Rangers. While both clubs have made efforts to eradicate it, it hasn't been enough. Plus, the police do not fully enforce the law.

Bloody Sunday happened during a war, so is not relevant to this topic.

Anyone bringing religious signs/symbols to a sporting event is as well staying home to be honest, having said that I don't wish the man any harm.

So you would ban all players from wearing a cross/crucifix? Are you against a player coming onto the pitch and blessing himself? Do you have a problem with Mo Salah (for example) kissing the ground after the goal as he is of Islamic belief?

If its not offensive, inflammatory or what is the issue? I look forward to the day a player from an Islamic background who loves the GAA scores a goal in front of the hill and kisses the ground. Life is all about diversity and being inclusive and respectful of all our wonderful differences without having to leave our identity at the door on the way in.

Nah not really big on bans, can't say I have a problem with players blessing themselves or kissing the ground (so used to seeing at this stage). But I don't share or respect their beliefs, however I do respect their rights to hold them once they don't infringe on other people, I think that's an important distinction.

As a matter of interest, would you have an issue with someone going to games holding a sign which read 'there is no god'.

In fairness Jesus will have returned by the time we get to another All-Ireland final!

Actually I don't think pontificating one religion over another should be part of any sport. I am also hugely against the Palestinian flag been brought into gaa games. They should be banned IMMEDIATELY.
