Replying To hill16no1man: "Your having a giraffe mate there was no atmosphere at all. wow can't understand where you came to that conclusion. I have been to o byrne cup games with more colour and liveliness than yesterday."
Replying To hill16no1man: "You must not have been in portlaoise That was the worst championship game I have ever been to in my life. I have seen far better o byrne cup matches with far more atmosphere too."
Remember you used to tell us these venues couldn't handle the mighty dubs on their travels? I knew they could all along. That venue has hosted much bigger crowds no problem and same with nowlan Park last year.
The atmosphere in croker would have been far far worse and the beating carlow would have gotten would have been at least double. Great for the local economy too.
And delighted to see meath vs louth in a packed parnell. Another great atmosphere. The GAA are on a roll and finally implementing ideas I was crying out for years ago. Another is meath vs Kildare which will be in a packed tullamore Saturday week. These matches have no business being on before Dublin matches in croker. They deserve their own venue and one that suits the fixture.
Replying To arock: "Good to see you cover all bases with your fantasy take on Dublin's success. First fact, the rest of Leinster are total crap, if Dublin played with 10 men they would have won. Second fact is Dublin are jut better than the rest no matter the ref or pitch. Now these are hard facts for you to swallow, which you never even once alluded to!!! So its because we play in Croker and when we don't play in Croker its the ref's that win it for us! Just read what you posted that is essentially the basis of your argument."
I know Dublin are better and they would have won no matter what but I'm just saying that the ref did them no favours and they could have kept it much closer if he was fair.
The venue also allowed carlow to not get absolutely hammered like they would have in croker.
Replying To OntheWhiteSide: "Great buzz and colour all day around Portlaoise yesterday with both locals and visitors enjoying the occasion, also great for the economy of the town. Good decision to bring the match out of Dublin."

Well done GAA."
I see "broken record" is back on the airwaves again after his hiatus.....
Replying To Jack_Goff: "I was banging the drum for a long time saying it's a joke Dublin get to play all their championship matches in their de facto home croke Park and that if they'd played their fair share away for the last 10 years they might not have won some of the leinsters they did.
Last year against laois and this year carlow has proved the idea right. Both matches a lot more exciting then they would have been in a boring half empty croker.
We were told nowhere could accommodate the Dublin fans. But last year and this year they came nowhere near to selling out the venues. They can be easily accommodated for the lesser matches.
Another argument was they should maximise revenue by playing it in croker. If that was the case they'd have meath playing all their early matches in navan because we get a bigger crowd in navan then we get travelling to croker, tullamore carlow, portlaoise etc.
Anyway glad to see one of my ideas proved correct. If the ref didn't gift Dublin everything as usual then this would have been a close contest right to the end rather then for 40mins."
replying to hill16no1man: I wasn't talking about the atmosphere at the match, I was referring to the atmosphere around the town which in my opinion was brilliant, particularly in the main street outside Kavanagh's pub. Obviously you're a hard man to please.
Replying To Royal.Legend: "Agree with wally there's no dought Dublin we're the better team in Leinster by a mile the last ten years would of won all then Leinsters regardless of venues, but the signs are there that this Dublin team are on the slide, gives hope to the winners of Westmeath and Offaly put it up to Dublin you never know"
Am never really sure on here whether folk are being serious or just messing. Offaly or WM to put it to Dublin, seriously? I would give meath/Kildare a chance of that as the winner will have good momentum going into a Leinster final.
The original point is just wishful thinking. Anyone who thinks Saturday's or last year's game in Kilkenny was exciting must be starved of seeing good games. First game first gear football being played will have no bearing on anything when it comes to the QF and onwards.
