Surely he'll get off for good behaviour?

You know well you responded to my comment regarding its not a chicken or the egg syndrome
that it's clear the linesman made his error first and you childishly tried to suggest the sequence of events were wrong because Connolly got a ban
Hmmm I think you are caught with your pants down here
Admit it"
you do make me laugh. Did you ever watch the butterfly effect love?

What did he get 12 weeks for?

You seem to be jumping in midway here without knowing what I was responding to.
I stated a simple fact that the linesman (not umpire as you say) made the incorrect call resulting in the Connolly incident after.
now the poster stated I was wrong simply because Connolly got a suspension.
please tell me how Connolly getting a suspension has any bearing on the order those events occured in ????
You need to read first before having a go at me in future"
I know exactly what you wrote. I read it, I just responded to your last comment.

Your attitude stinks.

Replying To hill16no1man:  "Well if you look at what started the situation a blatant inexcusable wrong call from said linesman, like there was nobody even contested the kickout it literally went from the keeper to the sideline untouched, the linesman shouldn't be let officiate if he can't get a basic call like that right. But yeah just focus on players and keep repeating these officiating disasters week in week out seems to be your answer, you will never improve anything that way"
This is the post that I'm referring to as the attitude I hate.

Whether the linesman made a mistake or not shouldn't come into it whatsoever.

Is this an unwanted distraction to Gavin's prep for 2017?

Did the sideline ball take place before Connolly touched the ref?
that's what we were discussing
So where has 12weeks got to do with anything, you must have watched the tv in rewind or something

Of course it should come into any discussion as it was the source of the whole incident. Week in week out we have officials making wrong calls I'm not talking about mistakes that is one thing but an uncontested kickout going directly over the sideline which like it or not was what started this incident. Like any other footballer would in his position Connolly went to get the ball to take the sideline.
that's where it all started.this is top level sport and it's basic calls like this official's are continually getting wrong. If we don't improve the level of officiating at the top how do you think we will ever improve it going forward? Officials need to be punished like a player is when they have poor games by beeing dropped,if they don't why would they ever improve their level of performances? Theres no incentive as it stands for them to do this

Because the word minor interference applies doesn't mean they both done the same thing"
I can't be any clearer, it doesn't matter whether I know what Comerford did.......they both got exactly the same charge, they both now have exactly the same sanction!! If two thieves run out of a bank in two different directions does one get a lesser sentence than the other?? Or do I need to draw you a picture?? The Dublin whining on here is both hilarious and embarrassing. I thought you guys had more pride to be honest. Thank god most Dubs have.

The right result from Connollys actions for once. Lets all move on from this and focus on something else. Im sure like me everyone else is tired or hearing about the dubs.

No, regardless of whether the linesman was right or wrong Connolly should not be acting the way he is acting.

Players need to start treating officials with more respect.

These guys that are making these mistakes are believe it or not the best we've got. The attitude we have in the GAA is not good towards officials and I'm sure that plays a part in why more people don't go into it. it's a huge reason while I'll never referee beyond helping out with underage blitzes and the like.

This reads like justification for shoving a match official ?
Your out of order there lad absolutely nothing justifies aggressive physical contact with a match official.
The fact you are worried about a sideline ball against a team you would beat by a cricket score come off it.

I'd say you're tired of the Dubs alright. Nearly 8 years since you beat us in championship. I was there that day, it was a great win for ye.

Where there for the previous 30 odd years before that when ye couldn't beat us?
If you want to be smart lad come back when you have won 37.
Enjoy the success it won't last forever.

Great achievement for the only football county in a hurling province. For a county that got a free ride for 120 years they should have more.
