12 weeks is the going rate these days, that's what our keeper got for the same.

He'll get banned. Don't worry. Then you can all rest easy.

The lad has a short fuse...no doubt he gets a lot of stick on the field but no excuse to touch an official. Flawed genius he is

Disgraceful. Surely Lee Keegan should get 12 weeks for this?

Lee will have to find a new play date if Mayo play Dublin between now and the end of August.

Replying To Dellboypolecat:  "Surely has to be suspended For it pushing match official"
As I stated Dell if this is ignored AGAIN because it's Dublin it just makes a nonsense of the Association and leaves officials totally isolated and unsupported.

Paul Galvin was banned for SIX MONTHS and he didnt even touch the official

If nothing is done here we will know once for and for all who is calling the shots in the GAA?

Will you all relax. He will get the ban, but it will give Dublin more reason to win.

Anyone have flash backs to Paul galvin v clare, like both incidents in games that their teams were never going to lose. Also a linesman incident. just curious.

Connolly is innocent. Linesman forgot that all line balls are supposed to go Dublins way. Connolly only pushed him to remind him.
Not Connolly fault the linesman didn't apply Croke Park rules out in the sticks.
He has avoided a ban on a number of occasions, he will surely get out of this too.

Galvin got six months for the notebook incident, which was a far less aggressive act IMO. Will be interesting to see what happens here. He'll get 3 months minimum anyway which means his season is pretty well over.

You'd have to question what he brings to the team at this stage. How many times has he let his manager and teammates down at this stage. It's a pity that this is what he will be most remembered for because he is so brilliant

Replying To Ulsterman:  "This is where the integrity of the Association stands or falls. McGeeney got a ban for words so surely this demands a far more serious punishment? Connolly is a superb player but you cannot touch an official. If the GAA and media ignore this once again the rest of us may as well fold up the tent and walk away for good."
I don't often agree with you, but you 100% right. There can be no fudging on this issue. 12 week ban, no appeals. For all his brilliance, he is a liability to dubs, a marker has to be layed down and Jim needs to say he did wrong, that's not acceptable, deserved ban.
No ifs buts or maybes. Never lay a hand on a official, EVER

Past incidences suggest he may not.

Did Galvin not have his banned halved to 3 months? Maybe I'm wrong?

should serve the ban and maybe keep him out of the starting XV after that. sick of hearing about him being a leader... he isn't.. leaders lead, they don't continually let team mates down

Replying To Green_Gold:  "I believe Kieran McGeeney got a 3 month suspension for abuse towards an official so he could get hit with a suspension for that as well. It's a shame as he really is a fantastic player but has a very short fuse.

If he doesn't get suspended do Dublin fans think Jim Gavin should drop him? Maybe that would help in the long run."
Gavin will not drop him end off, will he get a ban? probably? only time will tell, will it make a difference? no it won't.

I've said it before, for all his genius as a player and he is one of the best of this generation or many others, he is now a liability due to his inability to behave or hold his head on the field. What he done today and in the league final against Kerry prove that he can't handle the stick that all players get these days. The really great players will answer those jibes with goals and points, the mouthing will soon stop then, but regrettably for himself and Dublin he seems unable to respond in that way

Can't imagine he'd be banned for mouthing at the linesman after all the bold Aidan O'Mahony abusing the ref in 2015 final & got nothing. He did however touch The linesman...not assault like some are saying on Twitter and for that he will get a ban.

Replying To KingdomBoy1:  "Ooooh you can't do that diarmuid, Also Jonny cooper getting another player sent off . The long list continues for Jonny."
Are you blind or were you listening to it on the radio? They were running alongside each other jostling and Murphy put Cooper in a headlock and tried to drag him to the ground. Why are you intentionally misrepresenting what happened?

Replying To Murph:  "He will be remembered for been a troubled player. Could have been a great player but time to cut loose."
most of the best gifted sportsmen who have participated in any sport have been geniuses in their chosen sport but also had that wee flaw which seemed to surface at times, which almost overshadowed their accomplishments which people followed and admired them for. And as is, if we think about it that's what we follow sport for and sometimes it's the off ball or other incidents which we as the team etc love and others then love to hate for.
