Is this actually considered worthy of a thread folks !
I mean seriously, it really is the silly season if someone deems this as an issue to bother their Barney opening a thread for. Ankle socks,Lord above,what next ? Short shorts.

This is what I was saying...it's the truth. And yet somebody gives this a thumbs down. Unbelievable.

You mean just like Twitter did yesterday for a Dublin player. Articles on independent.ie etc. Only happens to Mayo though of course...

Checked Twitter after the game. More people talking about Liam's socks than there were talking about the game. Pathetic.

I'd say Wayno set it up as a bit of craic thread. Which it was for a while until some people started taking it too serious.

I think Dublin hurling has more to worry about than Liam Rushe wearing ankle socks at the minute.

Ankle socks for both county and club are all the rage unfortunately, O'Neills now have an extensive range, just bought a heap of them for various players all young adults. There are also a new range of accessories - gloves/bandana's etc gear will never be the same again!

Hate to break it to you, but every GAA player wears short shorts, it's the first thing any foreign lady says to me when they see gaelic games for the first time.

Raises 2 very important questions

Are the foreign ladies having a positive or negative reaction to the shorts?

Where are you meeting all these foreign ladies? Asking for a friend!

1. Unanimously positive;

2. I'm unlikely to be much help here, as I've been based overseas for the past six years. But next time you're away, showing them a few photos probably would do no harm...
