Down v Armagh

(Oldest Posts First) - Go To The Latest Post

Always have been a great fan of Down football because of their traditional style. Lots in common with our own philosopy. Armagh never got the credit for that team that came through in the early noughties so found me defending them in conversations over the years. Strangely this match could lighten up the Ulster championship with little expected of both sides. The colourful atmosphere should lend to the occasion as well. Am totally split on who will win. Very hesitant nod for Armagh.

I doubt if this game will do anything but make me wonder why does RTÉ year in year out show us so much dour affairs from the Ulster championship. Bored to tears of it. Even a close game in Ulster at this stage of the competition is painful. The semis and final are good, but this will be pure muck. Neither of these teams have a hope so why not show a better game from Leinster where drama is more likely to be football based. Down have long abandoned their traditions who knows what to expect from Armagh, but its more than likely to be ugly.

Both sides are playing the way Tyrone and Donegal and Dublin play. Bring players back, break at pace.

This is a great game so far. I wish all Ulster championship games were like this. Fair play to both teams. Not like the rubbish last night.

Both teams going long with kickouts makes it end to end and gives oppistion less time to get back. Very entertaining game so far

What's bs? Are players not coming back and then breaking forward as a unit? Armagh leaving one inside without the ball.
It's been a great game but don't pretend it's something different to the other teams in Ulster or Ireland

Armagh have no one to blame but themselves They turned down the opportunity for 6 or 7 points in the last 10 minutes

what an poor performance by the ref. all day not giving frees and creating situations. then doesn't know who he has booked. also kevin McKeirnan has just given everyone a clear demonstration why the black card is not fit for purpose
