Dublin V Carlow

Replying To TheFlaker:  "I do not want to hear anyone trying to defend Connolly this time. Tired of hearing how he is targeted. Class player but again he goes overboard. Losing the plot over a line ball that was flagged to Carlow. Should have walked but the linesman and ref bottled it. But sure enough the Carlow man got the line. Joke."
What do you mean "sure enough the Carlow man got the line"? It was a clear sending off. Just because Connolly didn't get punished doesn't mean everyone else should get away with stuff. Connolly will get a ban, I don't know what the rule is, he put his hand on the linesmans chest. He didn't manhandle the linesman as some people have written on here.

Carlow went in a safety first approach and rightly so given the much vaunted opposition... It was all about keeping the losing margin down - it would hav been less than 10 only for the Brendan Murphy sending off, not sure he deserved 2 yellows ... how Connolly remained on th field is beyond a joke ... Presume Dublin are lawyering up at this point?? Ref was beyond a joke for both sides and Carlow can feel hard done by re Murphy & Dublin lucky re Connolly

Hahahahaha
You must have been watching a different match
As Carlow hadn't got any forwards to trouble Dublin
they literally played 15 inside their own half, it was damage limitation from Carlow who never had notions of winning
And neutral from Dublin who never had any notions of loosing which lead to the worst championship match i have been to.

My point is how could Connolly not have got the line for that yet the officials were able to pick out the handbags with Murphy? Connolly will and should get 3 months, Tipp goalkeeper got the same for an apparent minor incident with an official.

The linesman obviously didn't think he'd been overly made contact with. He never made anything of it or never alerted the referee. And it wasn't handbags with Murphy. He was on a yellow and he grabbed Cooper in a headlock and tried to pull him to the ground. It was arguably a straight red or very close to it.

Why do think did Murphy grab Cooper and throw him to the ground?

It showed the lead up to it clearly on the replay. They were jostling with each other. Nothing to make Murphy react the way he did.

Lol a straight red!!? My guess is the linesman panicked and didn't really take on board what happened. As i said the Tipp ban sets a precedent.

A super footballer but his ability is matched by his need to get involved in stupid stuff.

No big harm done to the linesman but in a game where Dublin were home & hosed why do something like this?

Replying To DLlegends:  "Crazy post. Best ball player in Ireland, after MM of course. Flawed genius. In the big games come August he WILL be needed.

Much of opposition tactics surround nullifying DC. Frees up a hell of a lot of space for others. Pity he wouldn't cut out the crap though."
Your dead right there man..except for the MM bit of course.

The only thing that can be said about the game is job done Carlow showed absolutely no ambition other than to keep the score down everytime the ball went dead they taking a couple of mins to ŕe-start the game the 2nd half was a farce anytime they got a free there players went down and on comes the physio more time wasted it was a complete non event. For the Dubs we move on it was a game to blow of the cobwebs we will improve.

At least when they went down there was a foul committed unlike the 3 of 4 times Dublin lads fell over and got frees in

How negative were Carlow my god is this the answer now to every game put 15 players behind the ball get hammered by 12 but at least it's not 20 and we won't bothered with having a go? Dreadful stuff.

I have to agree, it was a hard watch at times yesterday evening. AT least the traffic wasn't too bad getting out of the place and we were lucky to escape the rain.

It happened right in front of me. Carlow were on the attack on the opposite side of the field and had won a free which they were trying to take quickly. Murphy was trying to support the attack on the opposite side and was trying to sprint in support. Copper pulled his jersey back. Murphy wrestled him free but Cooper regained his hold of the jersey. Murphy became frustrated and his reaction warranted a yellow. The linesman saw it all but failed to inform the ref that Cooper had committed a definite black card offence.

Same thing happens up and down the country. Was happening connolly all through the match. And as we are constantly told....you can't retaliate.
