Replying To ged:  "Of course they're nervous. When the wheels come off the pram this year though the manager can no longer get the blame (unlike previous 5 years) as they have the Alex Ferguson of GAA apparently."
How dare you say Ferguson is like Andy, Andy is far superior. :)

Replying To royaldunne:  "Shame match isnt on TV as you and everyone else would then see where our confidence is coming from. Meath are unrecognizable compared to previous years, the belief and passion and above all clinical play is outstanding, someone said we have the Alex Ferguson of gaa ? No one said that, as that would be belittling the far superior Andy mcentee. All hail the messiah.
Hon the Royal"
100% agree with you royaldunne. The confidence our team have in themselves now is what give us our great confidence. Only a meath supporter can see this. I havent seen the lads play with such passion years. We have slowly but surely come from s half time team to a full 70 minute team. Going into the championship as underdogs is exactly what we need. Louth will get a good walloping from us.

Dont know who would have comapred us to a foreign sport's manager? Id like to see this quote. Trust me our wheels are going nowhere they are well greased.

Yep its a feeding thing, the confidence in the players is unreal and it is feeding the supporters. Quote from one current panel member when asked how could they stop dubs, "if we reach that far, it will be Dublin who have to stop us, but we aren't looking further then our first game"
That's where our confidence is coming from, and what's more they are putting teams away to back up their beliefs

How many points are you expecting the Royals to wallop the Wee Men by?

Replying To NorthKildare:  "Both teams have made improvements, Now two Div 2 teams, Louth have made great ground the last 2 years but I fear that Meath have just pushed on again under McEntee, and will have too much, Should Kildare get over Laois ( not a foregone conclusion by any means) I would fear Meath in the semis as they are becoming a dangerous team again."
Meath blew hot and cold in the league. Hard to know where we are until Louth match. As you said any talk of a Kildare/Meath semi-final is just that, talk.

I'm a bit surprised by the Meath confidence if I'm honest. Not sure where it is coming from. I'd be nervous if I was a Meath man."
A few posters are a bit over confident, fair play to them, having seen most of our league games I feel we still have a long hard road ahead, with many a twist and turn

Points...im not thinking points im thinking goals. By no less than 3 goals and numerous points. Thats how confident I am in our mighty men of meath.

Exactly..dublin know that we are the one team they have to watch, we are well capable and have absolutely no fear of them. When you think back even just to last year no panel member would even think that quote in their head nevermind say it out loud. God, it makes ya feel proud(er)!

We should just skip this thread and get straight onto Dublin and Meath.

Fair play to you Loyalroyal. I would not like to see you setting yourself up for a big fall. Nothing worse than been over confident and having egg all over your face.

Not over confident at all..just confident and super excited for the championship. If you were in the frustrating position we were for the last number of years you would understand. We are well used to big falls but never have egg on our faces. Thats what separates from other counties. Let the games begin...

Shall we get over this there is one fish I am lookin forward to frying. 14 changes may do you alright in league , but trust me there is 20 Meath men that will ram that decision down certain throats'.

Think Louth are going to be well up for this, hard to pick a winner here.

Nope I did not, I actually said I doubt we win as it was still very much settling In for Andy, first game and all, and with clearcut penalties of given its hard to beat 16 men particularly while one is wearing black, I did say I wish we played Kildare later in league as we would have won, the early gym work suited Kildare ahead of every other team. I will say this clearly Louth are our ONLY obstacle to a Leinster final.
