K/C - 2/1
Claregalway - 3/1
Oughterard - 6/1
Menlough - 8/1
Dunmore - 8/1
Oranmore - 10/1
Oilean Arann - 12/1
An Spideal - 16/1
Headford - 16/1
St Brendans - 20/1
Williamstown - 20/1
Glenamaddy - 20/1"
The bookies have Claregalway a lot shorter than 3/1 after their imperious defeat of what many believed to be the pre tournament favourites in Tuam on Sunday.

Also can K/C really be classed as outright favourites considering they have been beaten already in this years champ?

Still have doubts about Claregalway. People always talking them up but they never deliver. I will give you 2/1 no bother.

They were missing a lot of their stronger players in the first round. Maybe there was an issue with their ex manager Jason Tannion who is now gone. They were the better team against Monivea in last years final and were unlucky to lose it. They are the strongest team from 8-15. People say their backs are bad but they are not too bad. So yes, I would still have them as favourites.

What price will you give me for them?

9/4 as per my previous post.

Couldn't see K/C beating Cg should they meet at some point this year especially taking into account the gulf in class between Claregalway's forwards and K/C's backs.

I think we can write off everyone else bar Claregalway and K/C imo (possibly Oran too). I don't think any other teams in the division have the same quality on paper than these two sides.

cant see k/c being beat again this year. Daly and Ward are back which should shore up their defense sufficiently while Shane Walsh is playing the football of his life and there isn't an intermediate back in the county to hold him at the moment

clonbern need more forwards than walsh to step up while cg have defensive issues conceding 1-15 to menlough on sunday....there are twists and turns to come yet in this championship

Personally having seen the islanders playing and knowing they beat both Barna and Cathar rua and MB in the gaeltacht football competition earlier in the year, 3 senior teams, I dont think anyone would be happy to be drawn against them. Any team that underestimates them could be in for a shock!

Yep, they are a fine outfit alright..

To be fair to Dunmore though, I think they were simply under strength rather than underestimating the Islanders.

Are we all in agreement that Clifden will be the ones making the drop down this year?

Odds of 2/9 on them being relegated doesn't say much for their chances.

They have a fair sprinkling of Galway underage players these days too. 3 or 4 anyway. And as you've said they are capable of beating some senior clubs on their day.

Nope, Ballinasloe to go down. 110%, I'd put my house on it.

Are you serious? Seen Carna/cashel playing KC they would struggle in junior, they are as close to certainties for relegation as I've ever seen, will be amazed if they beat anyone.

I heard carna were terrible alright against kilkerrin I wouldn't be too confident to put my money on kilkerrin if anything happens Walsh their goose is cooked absolutely no backs only Enda Daly who had to return to steady the ship goalie and midfield poor and they lost Jason taniane who from what I can see with our last few county minor teams is a good trainer overall it shows how poor a grade intermediate is when carna who were relegated last year could go to junior but probably clifden for the drop and either Claregalway or Menlough to win it out

Would the fact that carna could potentially drop to junior not show the competive nature of the intermediate championship? I think its a very open championship with about 5 serious contenders and a few outsiders who could upset the applecart on any given day. Also look at moniveas performances this year they ensured there senior status with a game to spare.

Agree with you on Claregwalway being favourites to win but don't think Menlough can be considered likely champions given the sound beating Claregalway dished out to them last weekend.
