I think it crazy playing it there and I know Claregalway would prefer Tuam better atmosphere, did willamstown not play Aran there twice this year ? But it should be in Tuam pure madness

How do you mean a joke?

Considering the information available in this particular case we wondered how the two county boards would manage to brush this one under the carpet

Another crazy idea is I don't believe the U21 competition should be starting at the end of October. But hey who cares about players at all. I still don't get your point about minors playing senior level. Joe Canning played senior at 16. Wayne Rooney the same for Everton. Best minor this year Evan Murphy was a standout for Salthill Seniors. And they have plenty a big enough pool to pick from. If you're good enough you're old enough."
Do you think would Player Welfare be less of an issue if Minor players were restricted to the Minor / U21 grade? Surely having to play for a myriad of teams contributes to player burnout? Would they not be better off playing with players closer to them in terms of physical development? If they are good enough they are old enough is an archaic phrase not relevant to today's modern game which has a huge emphasis on physicality. You cite the exceptions rather the norm.

Mulkerrins for Aran, Murphy for Salthill and this young Campbell for Claregalway are just three off the top of my head that played minor for Galway that are important players for their club. I'm sure they're plenty more. So no county minors playing for their club is not an exception. It's the norm. And I'd guess most of the players that finished minor grade this year are close to or playing for a adult grade team at some level. Claregalway vs Kilkerrin-Clonberne reply was delayed a week as the Claregalway minors were playing the following week. So player welfare mattered then. But it doesn't suit now. Same bull all the time. This isn't about one young lad or the teams left or minors playing for senior teams. It's the overall structure and running of the competitions in this county. It continues to be shockingly poor.

in an ideal world yes but with clubs struggling population wise in many cases the 17/18 yr olds are needed to field teams. its just a fact of the matter

The 'information' must not have been by the letter of the GAA law.

Except for their last 2 matches against Aran, which were both played in Pearse Stadium. Unless you're saying they were only there in spirit. Keep 'em coming scan.

You're talking out your rear end sham. I know every bit as much if not more about the case than you "think" you know. Not enough evidence plain and simple. All talk of NY county Board and Galway county board having a lot of explaining to do is nonsense. Wouldn't happen. Won't happen. Nobody is interested and if you are actually living in NY then I would hazard a guess that you know the way sanctions and illegal players are used in their absolute farcical championship at both senior and intermediate level. Ye could do with having a good look at the GAA "system" ye have in place out there and then ye wonder why the New York team is always a shambles when intercounty players get 10s of thousands a year and park avenue apartments for the summer. And a lot more sinister dealings than that too which, if you do actually live there, you should be well aware of.

Hard to know what the 'letter' is in county boards. So nobody is surprised - it's not like the big New York club involved or the New York County board were going to admit to it, which means this stuff will keep goingon. because it not like they write 'not registered' beside them on the team sheet never mind using their correct name. But from what is flying around on what's apps groups here people thought the photos couldn't be ignored

So called photos and whatsapp groups.....solid grounding to throw a team out of a championship final.

Agreed. These made-up 'technologies' have no place in the future of football. They do more harm than good. Ballyragget is a prime example of this.

77 thousand views- unbelievable jeff!! And so little script actually about the games themselves

My view is claregalway to win with greater power, scoring balance and subs....raw enough in how they approach the game but they just keep coming as clonbern found out...I hopw willies put in a good performance and keep it tight but i can see cg running out winners by 4/5 points

What i want to know is what these bodies who are out for the good of the club player are actually doing ?

I mean CG U21s playing on Saturday, their minors playing friday and then the intermediates playing Saturday and if they win they play the following day again !!!

Why hasn't the CPA stepped in here and said " Whoa.... hold up.... lets protect the club players, especially the youngsters".....

As per usual Galway GAA is a laughing stock.

County Minors are always going to asked to played at senior level in the club, this is not in dispute. Whats in dispute is whether or not this is a good thing? You cited three underage superstars who went on to have prolific senior careers, now you are citied three players who as minors have had good season. Not good for Player Welfare to start putting them in the same brackets as Canning Rooney and Co. Its difficult to have a debate when the goalposts are continuously being moved. Plenty to fault the county board with, to use every instance of clubs breaking rules is not one of them.

The county board wanted the game played Wednesday to protect players from 2 games in 2 days, this was not accepted by the Clubs. If clubs can't protect minor players, its up to the GAA to do so.

I have sent many of you responses and posted messages but most are not getting 'approved'. It seems somebody in the forum has the power to filter what is said when it doesn't support a certain narrative a few individuals on here are peddling. I thought we had problems with the New York county board but something stinks in Galway.

Absolute disgrace the Claregalway lads wont be able to have a few scoops Saturday night to celebrate wining only the 2nd intermediate title in their clubs history on account of having to play up in Sligo the next day.
