This match will most likely be a very one sided affair, Donegal I reckon will come out of this match with a very convincing win, they are for definite the better team by a country mile and they are also playing at home so they have home advantage as well. I would love to be proven wrong and see Antrim put a good test up to Donegal. oakleafersir (Derry) - Posts: 808 - 30/04/2017 14:48:47 1983618 Link 0 |
Hard to disagree with this post. Not much room for debate in actual fact. Donegalman (None) - Posts: 3830 - 30/04/2017 17:15:10 1983635 Link 0 |
In all my years watching football Antrim are the one county that has continually failed to pull its weight. This years seems even worse with players very unhappy with the Antrim board at the moment and it all points to an heavy loss to Donegal and early exit in the backdoor. It might suit Donegal better to get beaten by Antrim rather than get a hiding from Tyrone in the semi final. El_Torro (Tyrone) - Posts: 155 - 01/05/2017 21:19:44 1983845 Link 0 |
If Antrim do not beat Donegal they will run them to within a few points. Naysayer (Antrim) - Posts: 2071 - 02/05/2017 08:14:12 1983877 Link 0 |
A hiding from Tyrone? If we beat Antrim, and Tyrone beat Derry, Donegal and Tyrone will be tight as can be. Donegal_abroad (Donegal) - Posts: 1321 - 02/05/2017 09:18:37 1983884 Link 0 |
That would be based on what current form?

Antrim have had some great footballers down through the years but for some reason or other can never get them all singing off the same hymn sheet. Baker Bradley was probably the only man in recent memory to be able to do so. He got them to an Ulster final and they had a very decent run in the qualifiers. But since then they've gone back a fair bit. They'll still be plucky enough but I would expect Donegal to have way too much for them and will win it with about 7 or 8 points to spare. At this point I'm fairly certain that the majority of Tyrone posters are automated bots.

How many clubs play football in Antrim and how many are senior? TheWestIsAwake (UK) - Posts: 529 - 08/05/2017 12:12:05 1985170 Link 0 |
Surely you mean it might suit Tyrone better to get beat by Derry rather than suffering a hiding against Donegal ha ha. If Donegal and Tyrone do meet I would expect it to go down to the wire. Donegal have always had great difficulty against Antrim but Antrim do seem to have gone backwards in recent seasons. Mind you Donegal rarely hammer teams, they tend to take their foot of the gas when well ahead of teams. I would still expect Donegal to win by 6+ points. There are 3 Senior Leagues with 34 teams over the 3 Divisions - 12 in Divs 1 and 2 and 10 in Div 3. When it comes to Championship this year there are 13 teams who have entered the Senior Championship - the 12 Div 1 teams and one of the Div 2 teams.

Only a week to go now. I have got Ryan McHugh down for man of the match. Hopefully Micheal Murphy starts as well. oakleafersir (Derry) - Posts: 808 - 14/05/2017 22:27:54 1986679 Link 0 |
