Replying To ispeakwisdom:  "I well know what age Keith Murphy is, a county minor last year. My main point was Strokestown need to mature as a team. The idea they are under pressure to perform this weekend is not true IMO and anyone hearing how good this team might be could well have to wait a while longer to see it happening."
Anything could happen in football, maybe it's this year? They'd be happy with the draw they got! I think Strokestown have me key players than Boyle! What player will mark Cathal Compton and Colin Compton. Who'll mark Kevin Finn and Diarmuid McGann. I see more match winners in Strokestown team. All 6 forwards have scored last two weeks they've played!

Strokestown scored freely against Kilmore,Croans,Castlerea but against Clann,Elphin 13 points is all that Strokestown managed. Good news for Strokestown Saturday is that Boyle aren't great defensively but they will still need to do a good marking job on the two Smiths if they want to win.

Looking forward to seeing both senior Quarter finals this weekend. Tulsk should have too much for the Doms in the Inter Quarter final.

Has to be classed as a black Mark for Tulsk management.that is a decent Tulsk panel who have been there abouts in last couple years. I don't think they should ever be in a losing position against a doms side who struggled against Barry's last weekend. Obviously no offence doms, no offence Barry's

I was indeed and the margin of the win the biggest shock. Doms were excellent on the day and fully deserved their win. The two Naos Connaughton goals totally rocked Tulsk from which they couldn't recover from. 3rd goal was keeper error and it put a end to any 2nd half comeback.

Boyle Strokestown was a game of two halves. Strokestown the best team in the 1st and were left kicking themselves to not be ahead by more than 2 points at half time and Boyle the better in the 2nd half created a number of goal chances and finished strong for a hard earned win. The Two Smiths and McKeon key in Boyles win no surprise there i suppose.

Change of plans meant i couldn't make it to the Kiltoom quarter final but a fine win for Western Gaels scoring 5-11, apparently Cathal and Finbar Cregg were on fire. Brigids v Western Gaels, Roscommon Gaels v Boyle are two very interesting semi finals, looking forward to both games hopefully be a double header in Hyde Park.

Hope the roscommon selector at the game took note of the performances of cathal and finbarr cregg and donie shine. Cathal was outstanding tonight. On the eve of the all Ireland I think its fair to say if we had cathal and donie on the roscommon team we would have bet mayo the first day. I hope going forward any differences that's there can be sorted out.

Western gaels and st brigids will be a huge game.. the gaels with the 2 creggs on song and donal ward back from the states will bemail a dangerous animal.. brigids will be more settled than the day they were beatin in fpark.. anyone who was at that match will know however that both teams went at it 100 percent that day and the gaels were the better side hands down

OK so the gaels win it by 2 and kick 7 more wides than their opponents lose their free taker after twenty minutes and midfielder in the warm up.. and have their main defender to come back for semis final..

It was the hands down bit I took exception to. Brigids got themselves back into a game within 3 points, missed a penalty and still drew level.were on the attack for lead score and got turned over. Cregg free gave Gaels the lead with another point before whistle, hardly hands down.

Inter is wide open I thought it was a straight shoot out between fuerty and Michael glaveys but thet opinion has changed in the past few weeks with oran beating glaveys and fuerty been well beat by glaveys.

Creggs are a dark horse if they can get over a very unpredictable oran in the quarter oran were excellent gainst glaveys winning by ten and then getting beat in the hyde by a poor tulsk side.

I think Fuerty will have far to much for the doms they wont be as naïve as tulsk were leaving Naos isolated one on one in the full forward line. I do not know how the tulsk management let that happen crazy stuff.

Don't think Brigids will be worried about Western Gaels at all. Brigids are never anywhere near full tilt during the group stages of the Championship and still got close to Western Gaels. Cathal McHugh only getting back to somewhere near match sharpness in the last week or two and I didn't see anything in the game on Saturday to suggest they will beat Brigids. Western Gaels have an awful tendency to drift in and out of games, play well for 10 minutes and then go to sleep for the next 15 minutes. You wont get away with that in a semi final. Brigids will be happy for everyone to talk up Western Gaels for the next 2 weeks.

2 double headers in the Hyde this weekend with Oran and Creggs playing their Intermediate quarter final followed by Fuerty and Dominics on Saturday evening.

On Sunday there is the 2 Junior A semi finals - Brigids B vs Ballinameen and Kilglass Gaels vs Clann B.
It will be interesting to see what sort of sides Brigids and Clann's 2nd team will have, I presume they will both have lost players to the Senior Championship since the group stage finished up.

Good to see many clubs getting a run out on the new Hyde park surface.
