Some win by Glaveys, to score 3-14 and win by 8 points against the best in Galway is not often seen by any Roscommon club in a Connacht final. Glennon MOTM again closely followed by Hussey,Fitzmaurice,Comer and Heneghan. On the evidence of the last few games it will take a very good side to beat them in the All Ireland series.

Well done to Michael Glaveys. A very well deserved Connacht title. To beat the best of Mayo and Galway is no mean feat.

Great result and performance from Glaveys. The late Dermot Earley would have been a very proud and happy man if he was around yesterday.

Glaveys were full value for their margin of victory, Claregalway couldn't cope with Glaveys speed and movement and the superb Hyde park surface for this time of year suited their style of play. They won almost every individual battle across the field, a special mention on Andy Glennon, 0-9 scored 7 from play not only was his high scoring in a provincial final impressive but his work rate and energy was a key feature also.

Yesterday was the 4th provincial won by a Roscommon team in 2017 hopefully 2018 will bring the same if not more success like that.

U20 Div 1 championship semi finals on tomorrow, Brigids v Clann at 12 and Dominics v Pearses at 2pm. Its looking like a repeat of the 2015 minor final Clann v Pearses but maybe Brigids will have a sting in their tail. A pity the two semi finals aren't a double header in one venue.

Some shabby analysing discounting a good Doms team. Well done to the Knockcroghery/Ballymurray/Rahara/ club on reaching the under 20 final...great win for them

It was win totally out of the blue one of the biggest shock results of club season. Pearses minor champions of 2015 and minor finalists 2016 and last week they beat Brigids U20s. A great win for them a rare Div one final for Doms and few would have predicted that after their group defeat to Clann by a margin of 20 points!

Fine bounce back from defeat from Brigids against Clann in the other semi final they indeed had that sting in their tail and will now be favorites to win their first U20/21 title for 8 years

As a Brigids man I would have loved to see a rematch with Pearses which would have been a fantastic game. Dominics will obviously test Brigids but I would expect it will be another trophy coming to Kiltoom to add to the Senior, Junior, Minor and Under 16.

Better team Brigids won today...winning can become a habit...doms deficient up front.

Congrats to Brigids and hard luck to Dominics

Brigids just about did enough to grab the win, 1-8 3fs (9 scores) will tell you they got nothing easy today. Dominics took the goal chances that came their way in the semi final but today they didn't and will be left to rue those missed chances now.

Next Sundays Div 2 final Tulsk v St Ciarans promises to be a good game

I would say it was decided on the taught the other semi would have been of greater interest to the neutral due to Mark O'Se and paudies son coming up against the Cavanaghs.

I wonder is that also the reason why the Gaeltacht / Moy game is fixed for Semple stadium while the Glaveys game is at a club ground in Mullingar ?

I'd like to echo that point, michael. While I'm obviously disappointed with the result, it was a very good game in decent conditions (for January). I really hope they can go on and finish the job in style next weekend.

Very well done to Glaveys. Deserved win in a tough and highly competitive semi final. Heneghan,Hussey the stand out players today and Mattie Forde in his late 30s still showing his class. Moy Tir na nOg of Tyrone are next and they are ultra defensive team which won't suit Glaveys who want to play a free flowing game but its great to be in the All Ireland final in Croke Park and with a bit of luck hopefully Glaveys with will it.

Best of luck in the final. Hopefully the cup stays west of the Shannon for a second year.

When the FBD league games used to take place in Ballinlough I was always impressed with how well run the event and the ground etc were.

Moy from Tyrone are spoilers and will be trying everything and anything to slow down Glaveys fast moving game. Hopefully the wide open spaces of Croke park will suit Glaveys and the ref is strong one that doesn't fall for any antics. The best of luck to Glaveys tomorrow the county is behind you.
