Do I detect jealousy amongst our country cousins?

Great open game of football in MacHale park. A Great win for Glaveys when you consider the current intermediate Connacht and All Ireland champions are from Mayo. Glaveys had to hang on for their win however they would be kicking themselves if they hadn't won that game, apart from the first 10 mins of the 2nd half Glaveys were the better side and their 3 point lead at half time didn't do justice to their dominance.

I agree that those players named were outstanding Glennon was awarded MOTM I also thought teen Cathal Heneghan had a fine game. This win will give Glaveys great confidence going into the final but nothing easy there as Claregalway are a good side and will have home advantage.

A very well done to St Brigids on winning the Connacht minor title tonight, in total control throughout won by 8 but could have won by much more. Best of luck to their Brigids seniors on Sunday.

Brigids died with their boots on this afternoon. When watching the game back they won't be too pleased with their defending on the majority of Corofin scores however they have a lot to be pleased about and aren't that far away from the best in Connacht again. Hopefully next Sunday Glaveys will bring home the Connacht title.

Indiscipline and poor free taking cost them...you have to have a right good free taker at that level and they would have won if they had one like there manager for example...they missed too many frees today.

Scored 9 frees today you are always likely to miss a few frees and Frankie Dolan missed plenty of frees in his day. Sloppy marking by Brigids cost them the most today especially on both goals. Hard luck to Brigids they were 5/1 with the bookies to win today and yet managed to bring that game into extra time and could have won it in normal, they will re group and will be back stronger again.

The St Brigids teams of 2010 to 2014 would have won that game by a bit to spare. That current Brigids team don't have enough scorers from play and concede too much from play. They might improve as they have a lot of good young players coming through and one of their youngest players Brian Stack already looks like Karl Mannion type leader in the making. As for Corofin I wouldn't be surprised if Castlebar beat them next.

He didn't miss the kind of ones that went wide today. Too many times in the second half they got involved stupidly with the ref and the ball was brought forward at times. When they went direct and ran at Corofin they had them on the ropes. P Kelly, Stack were very good. Goal conceded in et was unlucky as it came off the post initially. Still the future should be bright for Brigids. It's up to the other clubs at senior level in Roscommon to rise to there standard.

That's a good Corofin team and Brigids ran them close. They will definitely beat Castlebar in Tuam. Yesterday shows Brigids are miles ahead of anything in Roscommon and what is scary is what is coming behind the current crop. Minor Connacht Title in the bag, U20s will definitely go close in the Championship (might even win it with a bit of luck) and the best Underage team (U16) that this county has seen in a long time. Roll on the next few years when the cabinet gets even more full.

Agree completely. 1-5 out of 1-14 from play is not good enough to win at this level. Plus I felt the ref was sympathetic towards brigids as he awarded a number of very soft frees particularly in the second half of normal time. This game was more about corafins inability to put brigids away. The could have had 5 goals on the day and will be unhappy with some of the wide's they kicked, particularly from frees. They still scored 2-13 from play. Castlebar will find that game very interesting viewing and like you I wouldn't be surprised to see a castlebar win.

Looking forward to Sundays Connacht final in Hyde Park, if the weather stays decent it promises to be a high scoring competitive contest. Claregalway on route to this final have been scoring 18 points per game while Glaveys have scored 19 points. Another one point win will do Glaveys just grand the very best of luck to them.
