Replying To KingdomBoy1:  "We were the bigger stronger team? That makes a change, we're usually small at underage.
Am I right in saying there is an U17 allireland being played this summer?
Straight knockout for lads who'll miss out on the extra year at minor.
Also damo where was the game played?"
From memory I thought the Kerry minor team certainly had a physical edge over Galway last September.

Game was played in limerick , there is an all Ireland under 17 not quite sure if its straight knock out , it was originally proposed to run a once off u18 competition next year to give lads born in 2000 a second year of competition , but there was a lot of resistance to that idea , so what you have is two competitions running over summer minor and under 17 , in Dublin we have two separate squads , but in hurling its run differently we have a panel of 45 hurlers made up of 20 lads born in 1999 and 25 born in 2000 and teams as per fixture are pulled from the one panel point being 2000 hurlers particulary strong , in the football 1999 lads quite big , 2000 lads quite small

Now that you mention it last years minor squad were pretty big alright especially up the spine of the team. The 3/4 teams previous were quite small though.

Oh right that's interesting, and was that ye'r A or B squad that Kerry U17s played on Sunday? Or was it the two joined together?

Squad is about 28 lads , unlimited subs challenge match all got a run , do think there is an A or B same as Kerry just the one u17 team as well as a separate minor team,

The Kerry U17s and Minors are essentially training together under the same Management and indeed a few of the lads who started vs Clare in the Minor are starting vs Tipp in the U17 next Tuesday

This could cause complications down the line if we progress to the latter stages of both competitions as I believe the U17 AI Final is schedulked for the same weekend as the Minor Semi Final between the Munster & Connacht winners
