What about a Cork Double?

Replying To Rockies:  "Well....being pessimistic in the face of good results and reading your own interpretations into Kingston's statements is extremely negative.
Get on board..follow your team and wave the red and white flag. You'll be happier."
Well said Rockies.....lot of negartivity in the air...I haven't seen any mouthing off or bragging and I expect your "double's" comment was tongue in cheek stuff! Sometimes I find our teams are just too damned casual/lazy in their approach to games and don't get the finger out! This was explicit in the closing stages via Galway in the football and via Dublin in the hurling.....games we should have one. The body language and display of both teams last Sunday proves they can win games (even if it is the league) when there is passion and working hard for possession for 70 minutes! It is a pity that "fear" of dropping a division most certainly played its part on last Sunday's displays. I like Kingston and he doesn't lose the run of himself in post match interviews. I would not agree with another posters interpretation on his post Tipp match comments. Healy is a mystery to me as he seems reluctant to face media and generally seems out of his depth. However, maintaining our divisional status to me is a result for now as to where we're at......everything else is a waiting game and more patience. Hopefully we take Kerry in u-21's on Wed......now that would be a result!

They know hurling."
Cork have potentially one of the best if not the best forward lines out there. If they can add goals they won't be a million miles away. May need to find a couple of top backs though

Despite the last few years i still feel Cork, of all the hurling counties, can come and win an All-Ireland from relatively nowhere in a year. It's in their dna, 1966, 1999 just 2 examples. I'd never ever underestimate Cork hurling.

Cork football are still a fair bit off the big teams.

I believe this may have been true once but not anymore. The strength and conditioning work that is done now makes it virtually impossible for a team to 'come from nowhere ' and win the big one.Plus in 99 Cork had a team backboned by lads who won minor in 95 and U 21s in 97 & 98.
Cork have not won minor since 2001 and U21 since that 98 win.
