Abbeylara will meet local rivals Mullinalaghta St Columba's in the Sean Connolly Cup decider on Sunday, October 16 after defeating Dromard by 0-8 to 0-5 in the second of the Longford SFC semi-finals at Glennon Brothers Pearse Park this evening.

Robbie Smyth scored all but two of the winners' points as they qualified for their second successive final where they will be aiming to land their first title in a decade.

Abbeylara led by 0-3 to 0-1 at half-time against a Dromard side who were left to rue a huge tally of 17 wides. 

Dromard had the margin down to the minimum with 13 minutes remaining, but two quick points from Smyth and another in the seventh minute of stoppage-time from the county man sealed the deal.
