Shane Curran cannot see anything other than a comfortable Roscommon victory in Ruislip.

In his Westmeath Independent column, the former St. Brigid's and Roscommon goalkeeper foresees an easy win for the Allianz League Division 2 champions, with his only concern being that injuries may be incurred.

Predicting a "handy win", Curran writes: "In some respects, travelling to London for the opening round of the Connacht championship is a bit of a nuisance for John Evans and his management team, and for the county board, with a certain amount of expense accrued from the trip. But Roscommon are going to win and the only question is by how much?

"The big thing for Evans will be winning the match with the minimum fuss and avoiding injuries. I remember when Roscommon travelled to play London in 2010. Roscommon won quite comfortably, but the result came at a cost when Mark O'Carroll of St. Brigid's sustained a broken kneecap just 30 seconds into the game.

"Roscommon will hope to avoid injuries this weekend with Sligo awaiting in the Connacht semi-finals."
