Limerick sharpshooter Ian Ryan is back in training but Sunday's round 3 clash against Armagh will come too soon for him.

The Limerick Leader reports that Ryan has returned to training along with John Mullane, Jamie Lee and Killian Phair but only the latter is expected to be togged out for the visit of the Orchard County.

The Shannonsiders have won win (v Sligo) and a defeat (v Tipperary) under the belt so far.

"For young lads Sunday is a game you want to play," manager John Brudair outlined.

"They have watched Armagh on television down the years and now get to test themselves against them. These are the games that will be learn from.

"We have done a lot of work on the training field in the last couple of weeks and we hope to cement the best of the Sligo game and the best of the Tipperary game.

"We didn't play any games but the U-21s did and we had lads playing Sigerson Cup."
