Offaly football star Ger Rafferty had double reason to celebrate on Saturday when he got married before helping his club to IFC glory.

The former Faithful County captain married Alma Daly at St. Machan's Church in Ballycumber at 1pm before dashing off to captain St. Rynagh's to a 1-11 to 0-8 victory over Durrow in the county intermediate football final in Tullamore. In the meantime, the bride was flown to the wedding reception in Athlone by helicopter, which was hired by the St. Rynagh's club

The bride's two brothers missed the wedding to play for Ballycumber in their Offaly JFC 'B' final victory over Erin Rovers, but all were reunited for the reception with the two cups in tow. Tweet
