(Oldest Posts First)

Great to see 8 of the lads getting nominated for All stars and there could have been more.
Its the public vote that counts so get voting.

Let's us see who gets the most votes in a newspaper allstars contest which isn't exactly the best way to assess players of quality. Fermanagh may have had their last few championship games well publicised but overall they don't rank that high in the GAA thinking. For me the players that rank up there for this Irish News thing, are Sean Quigley, Tomas Corrigan and Eoin Donnelly and for the real All Stars nominations across the country probably just Quigley and possibly Corrigan.

Fair point AuldGussie but when we have 8 nominations, i think its important we vote for them all and not just a few.

Erne12 so you are suggesting that we should rig the voting system system by block voting all the Fermanagh nominations rather than voting on player merit from all the counties nominations? That wouldn't be very fair or do justice to the player nominated for these provincial newspaper selected awards. My choice of Fermanagh players Quigley, Corrigan and Donnelly are ranked on merit as taken across the whole province and that's the way the voting pattern should happen and not some biased system as you suggested. Anyway, the most important awards that take place later this year, the All Stars of Ireland is the one that truly reflects the quality of player and those most deserving of being acknowledged for their outstanding performance measured against the best and in that case only Quigley will emerge as the most likely Fermanagh player to desrve such an honour.

Auldgussie I'd imagine Corrigan and Eoin will get nominations.

AuldGussie you surely cant believe that The All Stars really choose the best players in the various positions. Talk about forcing square pegs into round holes. As for the Ulster awards I feel that Donnelly, Quigley and McCluskey should be in the reckoning. Good luck for 2016

He did. Played minor and u21. He wasn't selected for St Michaels McCrory team. Kept out of the team by footballing greats such as Mario Ledwith, Michael Curran and Jason Cadden.

Just to say a belated congratulations to Sean Quigley and Eoin Donnelly who were among the named Irish News AllStars winners! Chatted someone who said that Tomas Corrigan was a close runner-up. I think most will see accolades as deserved recognition of the quality of their football throughout the season.
