What are everyone's predictions for the teams this year? I know its hard to say when games haven't been played.

Personally, I think Enniskillen will stay in division 1 comfortably enough.

I reckon Belnaleck will be in the running for promotion to D1.

Comment:
It should be noted that many Fermanagh GAA supporters are not happy with the Fermanagh GAA website as club fixtures and league tables are being published exclusively in the Irish club name. While it's nice to have an element of the Irish language reflected on the site, the current Fermanagh GAA's website practice isn't meeting the expectations of those who have never learned the language or have limited knowledge of it and is limited to those who have learned the language mostly at Grammar Schools here in the county - that's honest the reality of the situation.

erneboy has raised an issue whereby the PRO in association with Fermanagh Co Board has commenced populating this year's fixtures/results/tables in the Irish language, However, I wonder how many people find it useful or do they go for erneboy's English version on Hoganstand? I would safely say that Hoganstand would be the preferred lookup site to follow. In real life at the game I don't hear too many if any at all, calling out support in the historic native tongue for the likes of "An Tigh Mór Na Seamrógá"i, "Achadh Lon Heber MacMathúna" or my own club "Gaeil Inis Ceithleann". I never learned Irish myself and I would guess I would be far from alone. The Co Board needs to wise up and concentrate more on developing GAA sports such as putting an effort into raising the profile of hurling which is much more important than their Irish language journey!

Can't believe the above to posters giving out about team names being put up in Irish. First of all, whoever is putting the names in Irish is right..to help promote the Irish language. Secondly, there are 20 teams in Fermanagh, its not hard to distinguish between the teams even if you don't have much experience in Irish. Christ of almighty... such a thing to be giving out about!!!

Good on you erneboy for highlighting the issue and please keep publishing the league details in a format accessible to all. I notice that the Fermanagh Herald hasn't adopted the county board web site Irish format which speaks volumes in itself as the paper has to meet the needs of his readership as wide as possible. By the way I can speak Irish and respect the language but I'm sensible enough to acknowledge that it cannot be rammed down people's throats.

I'll take it none of you actually realise that the GAA is more than a sporting organisation? The organisation is there to promote all aspects of Irish life and culture. Promoting the language is one of the key aims of the organisation. I suppose we should get rid of the Scór competitions also?

Here guys the focus should be on how to best to use the Irish aspect effectively on the Fermanagh GAA web portal while meeting the needs of the English speaking only users of that portal. Although, I observe that there is a publication of game fixtures in English on County Board's social media platforms but many do not use such platforms.

In discussion with my colleagues at work it was pointed pout that the Tyrone County Board, unlike Fermanagh Board, hasn't unilaterally imposed the Irish club naming on their clubs on their web portal but have left it optional for the club's own preference resulting in some being named in Irish and some in English.

Wherever this debate goes, I would imagine that this hoganstand forum and indeed the local, regional and national newspapers will continue delivering such information in English.

The GAA isn't a political or religious organisation so you don't have to worry about getting rid of it. It's a cultural organisation.

what a mess the co board has got themselves with another farce resulting in gaa fans arguing whether or not fixtures, etc are put up only in irish. there are more important things the boardmen could be doing like promoting hurling which is played and loved by primary school children but no follow up thereafter.
as far as i hear the same bosses are more interested in chatting about moving out of brewster park in the future and looking around for other locations so less us hope they don't end up with another white elephant farce like lissan up in the mountain in the back of no where!
i will continue read erne boy's english version of the fixtures & results here and won't be going to look at the county website from here on for the same info. slán

What mess the county board have got themselves into...???? I'd hardly call putting results up in Irish over English a mess. My god the cyring on this forum gets worse and worse every time I read it. I'd recomend a few of you write into Dear Dierdre to vent your fustration.

Anyways.. good luck to the Coláiste Naomh Mícheál, Inis Ceithleann team in the Hogan Cup on Saturday... should be a great day out for all concerned!
