All Star nomination is bitter-sweet for Quigley

While delighted to be nominated for an All Star award, Sean Quigley is disappointed that none of Fermanagh team-mates have made the 45-man shortlist.

The Roslea attacker, who is preparing for Sunday's Fermanagh SFC final against Derrygonnelly, believes the likes of Eoin Donnelly, Tomas Corrigan and Declan McCusker were unlucky not to make the cut after playing starring roles in the Erne County's exciting run to this year's All-Ireland SFC quarter-finals.

"It's lovely to get nominated for such an award, there's a lot of top class footballers so it's always nice to get the same recognition as those players - obviously I wouldn't be expected to win one so it's nice to be nominated," Quigley said in the Irish News.

On being Fermanagh's sole representative, he added: "It is disappointing. I know other teams that got to the same stages seemed to get a lot more, the likes of Eoin Donnelly deserved more recognition than what he got this year."
