In the first round of Ulster Club Minor Hurling Championship of 2014 Lisbellaw minor hurlers rather easily defeated  Carrickmacross by a final telling score of 2 goals 14 points to a modest 1 goal 8 points for  their Monaghan rivals.    So dominate were they St Patrick's side that at this games interval they mid Fermanagh side had registered a massive half time score of 1 goal 9 points to a very modest 2 points for Carrickmacross.

In stark contrast to their abysmal opening half performance the previously under the scoring cosh Carrickmacross registered a massive 1 goal and 6 points.  Whilst their opponents Lisbellaw added a handy 1 goal 5 points. More than enough to see them over the winning lines, at this game's end.

For the winning Lisbellaw lads Turlach Russell worked exceptional had in goals, particularly in the matches' second half, when a rejuvenated Carrickmacross side step up their attacks on the St Patrick's defence. He was well supported by fellow defenders Dylan Bannon, Aaron Magee, Jack Gavin and Connor Goodwin.
Out at mid-field Barry Duffy had an outstanding hour, well supported by Connor McShea.  While in attack Mike Williamson, Eoin Cleary and Stephen Breen worked hard.
