Fermanagh ready for onslaught

July 03, 2014
Fermanagh ladies manager Lisa Woods believes that they have to be prepared for an early onslaught from Down in their Ulster intermediate ladies football championship final.

The defending champions surprisingly go into Sunday's decider as underdogs following a poor league campaign, but they showed signs of improvement against Antrim in the semi final.

And their new manager told the Fermanagh Herald that they must be prepared for Down right from the start of the match.

"We expect immediate pressure from them as they attempt to perhaps kill us off from an early stage," said Woods. "Essentially we will have to show the same hunger as Down no doubt will have.

"We have the motivation however of retaining the title and hopefully we will have a full squad of players to select from."
