This weekend sees the start of the senior football league Division One as club teams get their competitive campaign's started.

This year's league has more significance than previous campaigns as the top seven teams in the league along with the 2014 intermediate champions will contest next year's senior football championship.

In a revamp of the senior championship, there will be just eight teams competing next year, unlike the 12 that will and has been competing for the last few years.

Regardless of what a team's position is in the league, there are sure to have something to play for throughout the campaign and this should make for a very competitive season ahead. Tweet
