Midweek football bonanza under lights in the capital

October 18, 2016

Parnell Park.

The football season is far from over in Dublin with a real feast of midweek action scheduled for this week.

A host of All-Ireland winners will be on show as two SFC quarter-final double-headers go down for decision under lights at Parnell Park.

Castleknock (Ciaran Kilkenny) and Skerries Harps (Bryan Cullen) open the programme at 18:45 on Wednesday, followed by the meeting of Kilmacud Crokes (Cian O'Sullivan, Paul Mannion) and St Judes (Kevin McManamon) at 20:15.

On Thursday, Ballymun Kickhams (Philly McMahon, James McCarthy, John Small, Dean Rock) face Raheny (Brian Fenton) in the 18:45 curtain-raiser, with Lucan Sarsfields (Emmet O'Conghaile) V St Vincents (Diarmuid Connolly, Michael Savage, Shane Carthy) throwing in at 20:15.

The fact that current All-Ireland Club champions Ballyboden St Enda's haven't even made the last eight speaks volumes for the strength of Dublin club football. Huge crowds are expected both nights for what should be four action-packed encounters.
