Dessie Mone admits Monaghan won't want to get involved in a shoot-out with Dublin at Clones.

The high-flying Farney County host the league holders on Sunday knowing that a draw would be enough to guarantee their passage to the semi-finals and veteran defender Mone concedes that Monaghan will try to keep it tight:

"We learned from last year against Dublin it will take 72 minutes of concentration and hopefully our players have taken that on board," the Clontibret clubman states in The Irish Daily Star. "It's working out for us so far.

"Derry needed the points and they took a different approach. They were still missing their Slaughtneil players and Dublin have a fantastic forward line. They were probably just trying to nullify their scorers and get them on the counter.

"We probably don't want to get in a shoot-out with Dublin because they do have high-quality players in their forward line and also in the half-back line. They can pick up the scores as well - they usually get three or four points from there - and it will be hard to stop that line as well as the forwards."
