Favourites University of Limerick were forced to dig deep to see off the challenge of visitors UCD in today's quarter-final.

Without David McInerney and Tony Kelly, Brian Lohan's star-studded outfit played second fiddle to the Belfield College in the opening 30 minutes and were faced with a four-point deficit - 0-5 to 0-9 - at the change of ends.

Whatever the Clare All-Ireland legend said to his troops during the half-time team-talk worked a treat, however, as they proceeded to outscore their opponents by 13 points to six in the second-half.

The win secures UL's place at this year's finals weekend which will be hosted by their Limerick neighbours LIT on February 27/28.
