Six-year-old Molly McNally will have the honour of leading the Dublin team out on to the Croke Park field for Sunday's All-Ireland senior ladies final against Cork.

Brave Molly from Balbriggan is battling cancer and, speaking to The Irish Independent, her dad Gerry said she was delighted to be invited to lead the team out.

"She is very excited about it because she loves going to Croke Park. I have been going there myself since I was 12."

Molly has another three cycles of chemotherapy to do before Christmas.

"Then our plan is to go to London for radiotherapy. Molly will undergo the intensive treatment at the Royal Marsden in London.

"She copes with it very well. She just keeps going, keeps smiling, keeps getting on with it."

To donate to the Molly McNally Trust Fund, text MOLLY to 57802, and it costs €2. Molly also has her own facebook page "Molly McNally Miracle Trust."
