Aughlisnafin club notes

September 20, 2016

*Aughlisnafin U-12.5's were at home to Ardglass in their second round robin game in the Division 3 Championship. It was a closely contested first half played out in tricky conditions with the pitch grass length curtailing the possibility of free flowing football. Both defences worked hard and goal chances were at a premium. Half time Aughlisnafin 0-05 Ardglass 0-04.

The 'Fin were able to find another gear in the second half and a brace from Marc Quinn was basically the difference in the end. Midfielder Quinn had been in inspired form for the U12's in what has been a difficult league campaign and he has carried this form into the championship with a brilliant display capped with two well taken goals. Midfield partner Rhys Clarke and full forward Conall King both grabbed four points each. Owen O'Neill and Joseph Steen also on target with a point each.

In nets Odhran Maguire kept a clean sheet with good handling and well directed re-starts. The full back line of Kevin McComiskey, Niall Dornan and Corey McCann were superb throughout and were well protected by half backs Conor Walsh and Calum Lyttle. As well as the scorers, Anthony Quinn and Marty Og Flanagan also put in a great shift. Final score Aughlisnafin 2-10 Ardglass 0-09.
