Coaches please note that the 'Planning the Season' course in St Johns is now on Thursday 3rd December at 7.15pm. It will show coaches how to split the season (what to cover during various times of the year) in order to cover all aspects of training, using a new 'games training' approach rather than 'non-games training' model. It will show how players can train at the right volume and intensity in order to help prevent injuries and burnout using the FITT (Frequency, Intensity, Time & Type) principal.

Youth Club Volunteers urgently required to help deliver various programmes and for general supervision, if you can give a couple of hours a week please let us know; training courses available.

Scor Sinsir starts in January, anyone willing to represent the Club should let us know asap.

Congratulations to Conor Doyle nominated as an O'Reillys Transport Club Down All Star.

Dunavil hosted the Cumann Na mBunscol boys indoor football last week.

There was a most encouraging Camogie meeting last week with no fewer than 15 returning or new underage coaches signing up to a training programme over the next three Wednesdays followed by organised coaching for children post-Christmas for U6 & U8 starting 6.30pm on Wednesday 6th January, for U10 & U12 starting 7.30pm on Wednesday 6th January, & for U14 & U16 starting 7pm on Thursday 7th January.

The Club will buy second hand Camogie helmets from anyone who no longer needs theirs to use as starter helmets for new players.

Already signed up for Child Protection Training on next Friday at Dunavil are
Tara Campbell, Jim Clarke, Patricia Clarke, Ailish Curran, Colleen Fearon, Lisa Fearon, Sinead Finnegan, Noeleen Harper, Carrie Killen, Louise Morgan, Ciara Quinn, Anthony Rogers, Joanna Sloan, Stephen Sloan, Rosanne Small, Sharon Small and Teresa White. There are still a few places available, if interested contact the Club asap. Everyone involved with underage camogie or football needs to have completed Child Protection training within the past three years.

The P1 to P7 Football Coaching continues on Saturdays 28th November and Saturday 5th December from 11am to 1pm before closing down until Saturday 9th January.
Also on Saturday 5th December there will be a bus trip to Pairc Esler in Newry to see the Football Interprovincial Leinster v Munster, leaving Dunavil 2.30pm for a 4pm throw-in, returning to Dunavil for 6pm. It is important that names are given in at practice the week before so the right size bus and tickets can be booked.

On Friday 11th December at 7pm at Dunavil there will be a Christmas Party and Presentation for all Camogs and Footballers from U12 down, parents are encouraged to attend.

Last Friday Sinead and Sarah from Women's Aid attended Dunavil as part of the Kingdom YC Winter Intervention project and delivered workshops on Healthy Relationships and Domestic Abuse, then on Saturday the participants enjoyed a night out at Newry Omniplex.
