Saval started best going three points up before Clonduff settled into the game getting a goal, quickly followed by another.
The Yellas had a 3-1 to 0-4 lead at the end of the first period, the rest of the game was really close with both teams producing some great football. Clonduff ran out comfortable winners 4-2 to 0-5. Well done girls!

HURLING
JHL Carryduff 1-13 v Clonduff 3-11
Monday night saw the two joint leaders in the Down Div II Hurling teams play off in Carryduff with the winner with the chance to top the table with two games left e. When the sides last met in Clonduff the game finished all square showing that there is little between the sides based on that game and current league positions.
Clonduff started strong with an early score from Liam McParlan; however this was quickly matched by his opposite number to level things. A hard-hitting, fast-moving half of Hurling followed with the sides exchanging scores. The Yellas had goal on their minds striking two to the net and one off the crossbar in the opening half whilst Carryduff made the best of some long range frees which made up 7 of their 9 first half points. At the break the teams were again inseparable and the scoreline was Carryduff 0-9 Clonduff 2-3
The second half was more of the same with both teams having their fair share of scores. Clonduff were dealt a blow 10 minutes into second half when Liam McParlan was stretchered off with a knee injury. Carryduff took immediate advantage from a quick free before Clonduff knew play had resumed with the injured player still not off the pitch but the score was allowed to stand. Carryduff continued to mount pressure with a second score in quick succession. After regrouping, big performances from young Patrick Branagan,Chris Young, Lorcan Branagan and a long range score from corner back Jamie Lowry was enough to lift the Yellas and bring them over the line for an important victory. A real team performance! Carryduff 1-13 Clonduff 3-11
Team: Niall Quinn, Jamie Lowry, Sean Downey, Declan Rooney, Shane Murray (C), Danny Nugent, Rían Branagan, Brendan Britton, John Murphy, Liam McParlan, Jamie Lynch, Chris Young, Rhys Ward, Lorcan Branagan; Sub used: Darragh Downey
Get well soon Liam - hope you are back on your feet for the Championship next week.
