McIver succeeds McCorry as Kilcoo boss

November 12, 2014

Dromore manager Paul McIver

Paul McIver is the new manager of Down football champions Kilcoo.

The Ballinderry native, who is also the Derry U21 manager, will take the Kilcoo reins as soon as the Oak Leafers' involvement in next year's U21 championship is at an end. He succeeds Jim McCorry who guided the Mapgies to an historic three-in-a-row of Down SFC titles before becoming the Mourne County's new senior manager last month.

Son of Derry senior manager Brian, McIver previously managed Tyrone club Dromore in 2011, the Derry minors in 2012 and was also part of the Derry senior backroom team last season.

He will be assisted in Kilcoo by Declan Morgan, who coached St. Brigid's in Belfast last year.
